Resumo: The analysis of the complaints allows us to assess the population's knowledge about health risks and the role of health surveillance as a public health promotion agent. It is a fundamental tool for a holistic view of the health risks found in the municipality. The objective of the present study was to analyze the complaints received by the health surveillance during the period of 12 months. The complaints were classified according to the related area in food trade, health establishments, medicines and health establishments. They were also grouped according to the problem reported in: damaged/expired products, poor hygiene, wastewater, irregular services, lack of sanitary permit, presence of animals/insects. The conclusion of the sanitary inspection was classified as unfounded, well founded, partially well founded. The complaints received by the sanitary surveillance in the city of Rio Grande - RS, mostly were in the area of food trade and establishments of interest to health, among the problems that led to the motivation of reporting damaged/expired products and poor hygiene. more frequently and most of the complaints led to action by the inspectors to reduce health risks.

Es una herramienta fundamental para una visión holística de los riesgos para la salud que se encuentran en el municipio. El objetivo del presente estudio fue analizar las quejas recibidas por la vigilancia de la salud durante el período de 12 meses. Las quejas se clasificaron según el área relacionada en comercio de alimentos, establecimientos de salud, medicamentos y establecimientos de salud. También se agruparon de acuerdo con el problema reportado en: productos dañados/vencidos, mala higiene, aguas residuales, servicios irregulares, falta de permiso sanitario, presencia de animales/insectos. La conclusión de la inspección sanitaria se clasificó como infundada, bien fundada, parcialmente bien fundada. Las quejas recibidas por la vigilancia sanitaria en la ciudad de Rio Grande - RS, en su mayoría, se referían al comercio de alimentos y establecimientos de interés para la salud, entre los problemas que motivaron la denuncia de productos dañados/caducados y la falta de higiene. con mayor frecuencia y la mayoría de las quejas llevaron a la acción de los inspectores para reducir los riesgos para la salud.A análise das denúncias permite avaliar o conhecimento da população sobre os riscos sanitários e o papel da vigilância sanitária como agente de promoção da saúde pública. É uma ferramenta fundamental para uma visão holística dos riscos sanitários encontrados no município. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi analisar as denúncias recebidas pela vigilância sanitária durante o período de 12 meses. As denúncias foram classificadas de acordo com a área afim em comércio de alimentos, estabelecimentos de interesse à saúde, medicamentos e estabelecimentos de saúde. Foram também agrupadas de acordo com o problema relatado em: produtos estragados/vencidos, má higiene, água residual, serviços com irregularidade, falta de alvará sanitário, presença de animais/insetos. Quanto à conclusão da fiscalização sanitária foram classificadas em não procedente, procedente, parcialmente procedente.
