Resumo: | To assess whether there is an association between nutritional status and food consumption in patients with depression. The study was developed at the Psychosocial Care Center (CAPS), located in the city of Sobral - CE, with 100 patients with depressive disorder, aged between 20 and 59 years, both sexes. Socioeconomic, anthropometric and food consumption data were collected through a Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ). The project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee, under opinion No. 2,596,743. Of the 100 participants in the sample, 67% (n=67) were women, in the age group “under 39 years old”, 55% (n=55), black 51% (n=51), consensual union∕married 56% (n=56) and income of up to one minimum wage 55% (n=55). When analyzing the nutritional status, both sexes had a greater number of overweight and obese participants. The prevalence of overweight was 89%, being 58% female and 31% male. As for food consumption, there was no difference between the participants, according to the Body Mass Index (BMI) (p > 0.05). There is a high proportion of overweight among the patients evaluated and this was not associated with food consumption. |

El estudio fue desarrollado en el Centro de Atención Psicosocial (CAPS), ubicado en la ciudad de Sobral - CE, con 100 pacientes con trastorno depresivo, con edades entre 20 y 59 años, de ambos sexos. Los datos socioeconómicos, antropométricos y de consumo de alimentos se recolectaron a través de un Cuestionario de Frecuencia de Alimentos (FFQ). El proyecto fue aprobado por el Comité de Ética en Investigación, bajo el dictamen nº 2.596.743. De los 100 participantes de la muestra, 67% (n=67) eran mujeres, en el grupo de edad “menores de 39 años”, 55% (n=55), negros 51% (n=51), unión libre∕casados 56% (n=56) e ingresos de hasta un salario mínimo 55% (n=55). Al analizar el estado nutricional, ambos sexos presentaron mayor número de participantes con sobrepeso y obesidad. La prevalencia de sobrepeso fue del 89%, siendo el 58% del sexo femenino y el 31% del masculino. En cuanto al consumo de alimentos, no hubo diferencia entre los participantes, según el Índice de Masa Corporal (IMC) (p > 0,05). Existe una alta proporción de sobrepeso entre los pacientes evaluados y este no se asoció con el consumo de alimentos.Avaliar se há associação entre o estado nutricional e o consumo alimentar de pacientes com depressão. O estudo foi desenvolvido no Centro de Atenção Psicossocial (CAPS), localizado na cidade de Sobral - CE, com 100 pacientes com transtorno depressivo, na faixa etária entre 20 e 59 anos, ambos os sexos. Foram coletados dados socioeconômicos, antropométricos, e o consumo alimentar através de um Questionário de Frequência Alimentar (QFA). O projeto foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa, sob parecer nº 2.596.743. Dos 100 participantes da amostra, 67% (n= 67) foram mulheres, na faixa etária “menor que 39 anos”, 55% (n= 55), a cor negra 51% (n = 51), a união consensual∕casado 56% (n= 56) e a renda de até um salário mínimo 55% (n=55). Ao analisarmos o estado nutricional, ambos os sexos, apresentaram um número maior de participantes com sobrepeso e obesidade. A prevalência de excesso de peso foi de 89%, sendo 58% do sexo feminino e 31% do sexo masculino. Quanto ao consumo alimentar não houve diferença entre os participantes, segundo o Índice de Massa Corpórea (IMC) (p > 0,05).
