Resumo: This paper aims to present and discuss characteristics and features of inventory management, showing it’s importance in the internal processes of the company and demonstrating how the management and reliability of its data can generate impacts. A study was conducted in a company that provides maintenance services for electric motors, which acts as a supplier of goods and services to one of the main national steel supply companies, among other companies in the mining, cement, steel and food industries. This study is classified as an action-research that begins with data collection, in addition to qualitative analysis for which brainstorming, quality tools, and informal interviews were used. Through these tools, results were obtained that point to the waste of financial resources, it was proven that only the implementation of an ERP system is not enough to maintain a high accuracy of the stock, being necessary to apply continuous improvement in order to make the most of the company's resources.

Se realizó un estudio en una empresa proveedora de servicios de mantenimiento de motores eléctricos, que actúa como proveedora de bienes y servicios de una de las principales empresas proveedoras de acero a nivel nacional, entre otras empresas de las industrias minera, cementera, siderúrgica y alimentaria. Este estudio se configura como una investigación acción que comienza con la recolección de datos, además de un análisis cualitativo para lo cual se utilizaron lluvias de ideas, herramientas de calidad y entrevistas informales. A través de estas herramientas se obtuvieron resultados que apuntan al derroche de recursos económicos, se comprobó que solo la implementación de un sistema ERP no es suficiente para mantener la alta precisión del stock, siendo necesario aplicar la mejora continua para aprovechar al máximo eso, recursos de la empresa.O presente trabalho tem por objetivo apresentar e discutir características e recursos de gestão de estoques, mostrando sua importância nos processos internos da empresa e demonstrando como o gerenciamento e a confiabilidade dos seus dados podem gerar impactos. Realizou-se um estudo em uma empresa prestadora de serviços de manutenção de motores elétricos, que atua como fornecedora de bens e serviços para uma das principais empresas nacionais de fornecimento de aço entre outras empresas do ramo da mineração, cimenteiro, siderúrgico e alimentício. Este estudo configura-se como uma pesquisa-ação que se inicia por meio de uma coleta de dados, além da análise qualitativa para a qual foram utilizados brainstorming, ferramentas da qualidade e entrevistas informais.
