Eyes and voices of children: possibility of research in kindergarten

Resumo: | This article presents a possibility of investigation considering the child as a participant and active subject. The intention is to discuss that children are able to reflect on their experiences, their own way of learning, their potentialities, and they may become researchers and proposers of alternatives. The methodology, presented with qualitative bias, sought inspiration from the ethnographic case study, and was based on Sarmento's theories (2011). This research aims was to analyze the participants' perceptions regarding the kindergarden. In this sense, look and hearing what children have to say about school spaces, in order to reveal what they think, feel, or even experience about their own childhood. The concern in this investigation is with the process, so the methodological choices sought to value and perceive children as participating subjects. This methodological resource is still a challenge to studies that focus on listening and children's observations, because the adult researcher must know how to renounce what has historically been said about children. Thus it was not intended to intervene on the subject to be studied, but to present and reflecting with him about his ways of being and acting in the school space, making possible a research with eyes and voices of children. |

La intención es discutir que los niños son capaces de reflexionar sobre sus experiencias, su propio modo de aprender y sus potencialidades, pudiendo tornarse investigadores y proponentes de alternativas. La metodología, presentada con un sesgo cualitativo se inspiró en el estudio de caso etnográfico y se basó en las teorías de Sarmento (2011). El objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar las percepciones de los participantes en relación a la escuela de Educación Infantil. En este sentido, mirar y escuchar lo que los niños tienen que decir sobre los espacios escolares, para relevar lo que piensan, sienten o incluso experimentan sobre su propia infancia. La preocupación con esta investigación es con el proceso, por eso se escogieron metodologías que valorizaran y tomaran a los niños como sujetos participantes. Este recurso metodológico sigue siendo un desafío para los estudios que se centran en la escucha y las observaciones infantiles, pues es necesario que el investigador adulto sepa renunciar a mucho de lo que históricamente se ha dicho sobre los niños. Por lo tanto, no se pretendió intervenir sobre el sujeto a ser estudiado, sino presentarlo y reflexionar justamente con él sobre sus formas de ser y actuar en el espacio de la escuela, tornando posible una investigación con los ojos y las voces de niños.Este artigo apresenta uma possibilidade de investigação levando em consideração a criança como sujeito participante e ativo. A intenção é discutir que as crianças são capazes de refletir sobre suas vivências, seu próprio modo de aprender, suas potencialidades, podendo se tornarem investigadoras e propositoras de alternativas. A metodologia, apresentada com viés qualitativo, buscou inspiração no estudo de caso etnográfico, e foi embasado nas teorizações de Sarmento (2011). O objetivo desta pesquisa foi analisar as percepções dos participantes em relação à escola de Educação Infantil. Neste sentido, olhar e ouvir o que as crianças têm a dizer sobre os espaços escolares, de modo a revelar o que pensam, sentem, ou mesmo vivenciam sobre a própria infância. A preocupação nesta investigação é com o processo, por isso as escolhas metodológicas procuraram valorizar e tomar as crianças como sujeitos participantes. Este recurso metodológico ainda se constitui em um desafio aos estudos que privilegiam a escuta e as observações infantis, pois é preciso que o pesquisador adulto saiba renunciar muito o que historicamente se afirmou sobre as crianças.
