Violence against lesbian adolescents in the school environment and its consequences: integrative review

Resumo: Objective: discuss the scientific evidence produced about the impact of violence in the school environment on the mental health of lesbian adolescents. Methods: integrative literature review, using controlled descriptors and alternative terms in the following databases: MEDLINE via PubMed, WOS, LILACS, SCOPUS, CINAHL, SciELO and BDENF. Results: four articles were selected that strongly relate the experiences of violence and victimization against lesbians with problems related to mental health and risk indicators. Females showed higher numbers than males regarding substance use, risk behaviors and mental disorders. Conclusion: it’s positive to say that the degrees of experiences of violence and insecurity in the school environment of lesbian youngs are different from those of heterosexual youngs. The role of nurses in the context of adolescents’ sexual health should aim to identify situations of vulnerability and, before them, promote the free exercise of the perception of sexuality, body autonomy, recognition of sexual rights, health, prevention and control of suffering psycho-emotional wear.

Métodos: revisión integrativa de la literatura, utilizando descriptores controlados y términos alternativos en las siguientes bases de datos: MEDLINE vía PubMed, WOS, LILACS, SCOPUS, CINAHL, SciELO y BDENF. Resultados: se seleccionaron cuatro artículos que relacionan fuertemente las experiencias de violencia y victimización contra lesbianas con problemas relacionados con la salud mental y los indicadores de riesgo. Las niñas mostraron números más altos que los niños con respecto al uso de sustancias, conductas de riesgo y trastornos mentales. Conclusión: es positivo afirmar que los grados de vivencias de violencia e inseguridad en el ámbito escolar de las adolescentes lesbianas son diferentes a los de las estudiantes heterosexuales. El rol del enfermero en el contexto de la salud sexual de los adolescentes debe apuntar a identificar situaciones de vulnerabilidad y, ante ellos, promover el libre ejercicio de la percepción de la sexualidad, la autonomía corporal, el reconocimiento de los derechos sexuales, la salud, la prevención y control del sufrimiento y desgaste psicoemocional.Objetivo: discutir as evidências científicas produzidas na literatura sobre o impacto da violência no ambiente escolar na saúde mental de adolescentes lésbicas. Métodos: revisão integrativa de literatura, utilizando descritores controlados e termos alternativos nas bases de dados MEDLINE, WOS, LILACS, SCOPUS, CINAHL, SciELO e BDENF. Resultados: foram selecionados quatro artigos que relacionam fortemente as experiências de violência e vitimização contra as lésbicas com problemas relacionados aos indicadores de saúde mental e de risco. As meninas demonstraram números superiores aos dos meninos quanto ao uso de substâncias, comportamentos de risco e transtornos mentais. Conclusão: as experiências de violência e insegurança na escola de adolescentes lésbicas são diferentes daqueles de alunos heterossexuais.
