Implementation of a Health Accessible to the Deaf: Training of Health Professionals in Brazilian Sign Language (LSB)

Resumo: | The right to deaf health quality and information in Brazil, have been given great prominence from the recognition of Law nº 10.436 of 2002 and Decree nº 5.622 of 2015 that support the deaf communities in the country the right to use the Brazilian Sign Language Signs - LSB. However, the integration of the deaf is still hampered not only by historical prejudice established over the centuries of segregation, as well as the lack of qualified health professionals to meet the public. The aim of this study is to emphasize through surveys of the data indicated the actual demonstration of the need for training of health professionals in Brazilian Sign Language (LSB) to effect quality with a health service to a deaf patient. Applied a questionnaire with 10 questions were interviewed 50 health professionals (listeners) aiming to clarify the issues that interfere with driving a good of care in the health units. The results of the questionnaire showed there is a lack of preparation of professionals to deal with deaf patients users of LBS, accentuating the difficulties faced by deaf individuals, who do not get a quality service. The data were used to propose the LSB course for distance health professionals, which will be available as an extension of the course, which will be available on the site of Telessaúde UERJ, contributing to improve the knowledge of the deaf and LSB by the health professional and assisting in the provision of quality and integration for deaf patients, strengthening the LIBRAS legislation. |

La integración de las personas sordas en la sociedad, así como en los servicios asistenciales, sigue viéndose obstaculizada, no solo por el prejuicio histórico establecido a lo largo de los siglos de segregación, sino también por la escasez de profesionales cualificados para atender a este público. Objetivo: investigar la realidad vivida por el profesional de la salud en la atención de pacientes sordos, enfatizando la necesidad de capacitación en Lengua de Señas Brasileña (LIBRAS). Metodología: Se aplicó un cuestionario con 10 preguntas a 50 profesionales de la salud (oyentes) con el fin de aclarar las cuestiones que más interfieren en la conducción de una buena atención a las personas sordas en las unidades de salud. Resultados: Además de la falta de preparación profesional para atender a los pacientes sordos que utilizan LIBRAS, el desconocimiento de la cultura e identidad de los sordos acentúa las dificultades de integrar a este público sin acceso a un servicio de calidad. Conclusión: Los datos fueron usadas para la implementación de un curso básico de LIBRAS para profesionales de la salud en la modalidad a distancia (EaD), que estará disponible en el Sitio Web de Telessaúde UERJ, contribuyendo a mejorar el conocimiento de las personas sordas y LIBRAS by parte del profesional de la salud y ayudar en la calidad e integración de los pacientes sordos, reforzando así la legislación de LIBRAS.O direito à qualidade e à informação sobre a saúde de surdos no Brasil tem recebido grande destaque do reconhecimento da Lei nº 10.436 de 2002 e do Decreto nº 5.622 de 2015 que apóiam as comunidades surdas no país o direito de usar a Língua Brasileira de Sinais (LIBRAS). A integração dos surdos na sociedade, assim como nos serviços assistenciais ainda é prejudicada, não só pelo preconceito histórico estabelecido ao longo dos séculos de segregação, como pela escassez de profissionais qualificados para atender a este público. Objetivo: pesquisar a realidade vivenciada pelo profissional de saúde no atendimento ao paciente surdo, enfatizando a necessidade de capacitação em Língua Brasileira de Sinais (LIBRAS). Metodologia: Aplicou-se um questionário com 10 perguntas a 50 profissionais de saúde (ouvintes) visando esclarecer as questões que mais interferem na condução de um bom atendimento aos surdos nas unidades de saúde. Resultados: Além da falta de preparo profissional para lidar com surdos pacientes usuários de LIBRAS, o desconhecimento da cultura e identidade do surdo acentua as dificuldades de integração deste público sem acesso a um serviço de qualidade.
