Evaluation of antioxidating activity of tea maked in free fairs and industrialized tea in San Luís-Maranhão, Brazil

Resumo: The benefits bring benefits to the body due to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimutagenic properties. The antioxidant activity of teas marketed in open markets and industrialized teas in São Luís - MA was evaluated. After the use of Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis), Bilberry (Peumus boldus), Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) and Mint (Mentha) teas by decoction process after liquid-liquid extraction with ethyl chemical reagent (FAE). An antioxidant activity was performed by the DPPH method, which is an organic compound 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl, where it was used in the analysis of 31.25 to 500 μg/mL of each tea extract. The extracts with the best antioxidant activity were inoculated in tenebrous molybdenum larvae (100 and 200 µg/mL) to test toxicity and protection against oxidative stress induction.The FAE of chamomile and industrial boldo tea has antioxidant activity of 60 and 50% (p <0.05), respectively, and is not yet any of the extracts tested in toxic action larvae. After an induction of oxidative stress, the 100 µg/mL industrial boldo extracts and the 100 µg/mL fairground chamber were able to protect as larvae, maintaining 40% and 50% until the day after inoculation, respectively. As the boldo and chamomile samples show the best results related to antioxidant activities in their industrial products and extracts of these products are not toxic effects on T. molitor larvae, besides promoting the protective effect after induction of oxidative stress.

Se evaluó la actividad antioxidante de los tés vendidos en mercados abiertos y tés industrializados en São Luís - MA. Después de obtener los tés Lemongrass (Melissa officinalis), Boldo (Peumus boldus), Manzanilla (Matricaria chamomilla) y Menta (Mentha) mediante el proceso de decocción, se realizó extracción líquido-líquido con el reactivo de acetato de etilo (FAE). La actividad antioxidante se realizó mediante el método DPPH, que es un compuesto químico orgánico 2,2-difenil-1-picrilhidrazilo, donde se usó en concentraciones de 31.25 a 500 μg/mL del extracto de cada té. Los extractos con la mejor actividad antioxidante se inocularon en larvas de Tenebrio molitor (100 y 200 µg/mL) para probar la toxicidad y la protección contra la inducción del estrés oxidativo. El FAE del té de manzanilla y el boldo industrial mostró una actividad antioxidante de 60 y 50% (p <0.05), respectivamente, y sin embargo ninguno de los extractos probados en larvas mostró acción tóxica. Después de eso, los extractos de boldo industrial de 100 µg/mL y la manzanilla de 100 µg/mL regulares pudieron proteger las larvas, manteniendo una supervivencia del 40% y 50% hasta el séptimo día después de la inoculación, respectivamente. Las muestras de boldo y manzanilla mostraron mejores resultados relacionados con la actividad antioxidante en sus tés industriales, y los extractos de estos tés no mostraron efectos tóxicos en las larvas de T. molitor, además de promover un efecto protector después de la inducción del estrés oxidativo.Os chás, trazem benefícios para o organismo devido às suas propriedades antioxidantes, anti-inflamatórias e antimutagênicas. Após a obtenção dos chás de Erva-Cidreira (Melissa officinalis), Boldo (Peumus boldus), Camomila (Matricaria chamomilla) e Hortelã (Mentha) pelo processo de decocção foi realizada a extração líquido-líquido com o reagente acetato de etila (FAE). A atividade antioxidante foi realizada pelo método DPPH que é um composto químico orgânico 2,2-difenil-1-picrilhidrazilo, onde foi utilizado nas concentrações de 31,25 a 500 μg/mL do extrato de cada chá. Os extratos com melhor atividade antioxidante foram inoculados em larvas de Tenebrio molitor (100 e 200 µg/mL) a fim de testar a toxicidade e proteção contra a indução do estresse oxidativo. A FAE do chá de camomila e boldo industrial mostraram atividade antioxidante de 60 e 50% (p<0,05), respectivamente, e ainda nenhum dos extratos testados em larvas apresentaram ação tóxica. Após a indução do estresse oxidativo, os extratos de boldo industrial 100 µg/mL e camomila de feira 100 µg/mL foram capazes de proteger as larvas, mantendo sobrevivência de 40% e 50% até o sétimo dia após a inoculação, respectivamente.
