Elaboration and content validity of the questionnaire to analyze adolescents' access to specific leisure equipment and identification of barriers

Resumo: The study aimed to develop and analyze the validity of an instrument to assess adolescents' access to specific leisure equipment and factors that act as barriers. The instrument consists of a questionnaire, elaborated with closed questions, type likert, with nominal scale in three levels. The criterion for the analysis of validity was content, with the instrument being screened by five doctors (juries) with notorious knowledge in leisure studies. The results indicate that the Content Validity Index (CVI) was positive for the two constructs analyzed - access to leisure equipment (CVI = 0.98) and factors that act as barriers (CVI = 0.98). As for the qualitative analysis, it is noted that agility and comprehensiveness were identified as positive points. On the other hand, the lack of possibility of subjective responses, the absence of the “studio” in the list of specific equipment and the lack of the “little diversity” barrier were signaled as negative points. After analyzing the qualitative notes, reflection and dialogue with the specialized literature, changes were made, among them the insertion of the item “studio” as specific equipment and the item “little diversity” as a barrier. It is concluded that the instrument has qualitative and quantitative content validity, being appropriate to assess the access and the factors that act as barriers to the use of specific equipment related to the different cultural interests of leisure.

El instrumento consiste en un cuestionario, elaborado con preguntas cerradas, tipo likert, con escala nominal en tres niveles. El criterio para el análisis de validez fue el contenido, y el instrumento fue examinado por cinco médicos (jurados) con notorio conocimiento en estudios de ocio. Los resultados indican que el Índice de Validez del Contenido (CVI) fue positivo para las dos construcciones analizadas: acceso al equipo de ocio (CVI = 0.98) y factores que actúan como barreras (CVI = 0.98). En cuanto al análisis cualitativo, se observa que la agilidad y la exhaustividad se identificaron como puntos positivos. Por otro lado, la falta de posibilidad de respuestas subjetivas, la ausencia del "estudio" en la lista de equipos específicos y la falta de la barrera de "poca diversidad" se señalaron como puntos negativos. Luego de analizar las notas cualitativas, la reflexión y el diálogo con la literatura especializada, se realizaron cambios, entre ellos la inserción del ítem “estudio” como equipo específico y el ítem “poca diversidad” como barrera. Se concluye que el instrumento tiene validez de contenido cualitativa y cuantitativa, siendo apropiado para evaluar el acceso y los factores que actúan como barreras para el uso de equipos específicos relacionados con los diferentes intereses culturales del ocio.O estudo teve por objetivo a elaboração e análise da validade de um instrumento para avaliação do acesso de adolescentes a equipamentos específicos de lazer e fatores que agem como barreiras. O instrumento consiste num questionário, elaborado com questões fechadas, tipo Likert, com escala nominal em três níveis. O critério de análise da validade foi o de conteúdo, sendo o instrumento submetido ao crivo de cinco doutores (júris) com notório saber nos estudos do lazer. Os resultados indicam que o Índice de Validade de Conteúdo (IVC) foi positivo para os dois constructos analisados – acesso aos equipamentos de lazer (IVC= 0.98) e fatores que atuam como barreiras (IVC= 0.98). Quanto a análise qualitativa, nota-se que a agilidade e a abrangência foram apontadas como pontos positivos. Por outro lado, a falta de possibilidade de respostas subjetivas, a ausência do “ateliê” no rol de equipamentos específicos e a inexistência da barreira “pouca diversidade” foram sinalizados como pontos negativos. Após análise dos apontamentos qualitativos, reflexão e diálogo com a literatura especializada, alterações foram realizadas, dentre elas a inserção do item “ateliê” como equipamento específico e o item “pouca diversidade” como barreira.
