Resumo: Introduction: Interdialytic weight gain (IDWG) is an important marker of adherence to dietary restrictions in individuals on hemodialysis (HD). Objective: To evaluate the association between nutritional indicators and IDWG in HD patients in the Metropolitan Region of Greater Vitória/ES. Method: This is a cross-sectional study developed with 1024 patients on HD. Results: The GPID was raised to 30.5% (n=311) of the individuals, and those with excess weight and high waist circumference presented, respectively, 46% (OR 0.540, 95%CI 0.394-0.741) and 44% (OR 0.540, 95%CI 0.394-0.741) less chance of inadequate GPID. However, those who presented muscle depletion according to arm muscle circumference (OR 1.421, 95%CI 1.009-2.002) and by corrected arm muscle area (OR 1.435, 95%CI 1.052-1.958) had approximately 1.4 times more chances of high weight gain between dialysis sessions. Conclusion: Individuals with muscle depletion are more likely to have high GPID, while having greater body mass decreased the chances of this inadequate weight gain.

Research, Society and Development2022-05-30info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/3003610.33448/rsd-v11i7.30036Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 No. 7; e43311730036Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 Núm. 7; e43311730036Research, Society and Development; v. 11 n. 7; e433117300362525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/30036/26028Copyright (c) 2022 Juliana Pereira; Mary Zanandreia dos Santos Gambarini; Marina Abelha Barreto; Mirian Patrícia Castro Pereira Paixão; Edson Theodoro dos Santos Neto; Monica Cattafesta; Luciane Bresciani Salarolihttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessPereira, JulianaGambarini, Mary Zanandreia dos SantosBarreto, Marina AbelhaPaixão, Mirian Patrícia Castro PereiraSantos Neto, Edson Theodoro dosCattafesta, MonicaSalaroli, Luciane Bresciani2022-06-06T15:12:05Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/30036Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:46:55.878185Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false
