Resumo: | This article is the result of research linked to the Graduate Program in Professional and Technological Education, Master's Program at the Federal Institute, at the Blumenau campus. Its theme is social and economic indicators, as an instrument in the process (re) knowledge of the context of performance of a campus of the Federal Institute. Based on the reflections made in this research in relation to the proximity and distances of a campus, with regard to its legal commitment, we seek to answer the extent to which social and economic indicators contribute to management in decision making. From the purposes of the Federal Institutes, according to Law 11,892 / 2008, it is understood that a campus is committed to contributing to its area of coverage. This issue calls for, among other aspects, the constant (re) knowledge of Local Productive, Social Cultural Arrangements, with the mapping of socioeconomic and cultural potentialities of reality, an indispensable factor to be observed, whether in the course of implanting and implementing a campus Federal Institute, as well as in the process of continuous (re) evaluation of its offers. As for the approach, the research was characterized by qualitative and quantitative; applied in nature; regarding its objectives, exploratory and descriptive; bibliographic / documentary and field research in relation to its procedures. Regarding the results obtained, the gap in the definition of the area covered by a campus stands out, the construction of a database with indicators disaggregated by municipalities and their historical series. |

Su tema son los indicadores sociales y económicos, como instrumento en el proceso de (re) conocimiento del contexto de actuación de un campus del Instituto Federal. A partir de las reflexiones realizadas en esta investigación en relación a la proximidad y distancias de un campus, en cuanto a su compromiso legal, buscamos dar respuesta en qué medida los indicadores sociales y económicos contribuyen a la gestión en la toma de decisiones. A los fines de los Institutos Federales, de acuerdo con la Ley 11.892 / 2008, se entiende que un campus se compromete a contribuir con su área de cobertura. Este tema requiere, entre otros aspectos, el (re) conocimiento constante de los Arreglos Locales Productivos, Socioculturales, con el mapeo de las potencialidades socioeconómicas y culturales de la realidad, factor indispensable a ser observado, ya sea en el transcurso de la implantación e implementación de un campus. Instituto Federal, así como en el proceso de (re) evaluación continua de sus ofertas. En cuanto al enfoque, la investigación se caracterizó por ser cualitativo y cuantitativo; aplicado en la naturaleza; en cuanto a sus objetivos, exploratorios y descriptivos; Investigación bibliográfica / documental y de campo en relación con sus procedimientos. En cuanto a los resultados obtenidos, se destaca la brecha en la definición del área cubierta por un campus, la construcción de una base de datos con indicadores desagregados por municipios y su serie histórica.Este artigo é resultado da pesquisa vinculada ao Programa de Pós-graduação em Educação Profissional e Tecnológica, Programa de Mestrado do Instituto Federal, polo campus de Blumenau. Tem como temática os indicadores sociais e econômicos, como instrumento no processo (re) conhecimento do contexto de atuação de um campus do Instituto Federal. Com base nas reflexões realizadas nesta pesquisa em relação às proximidades e distanciamentos de um campus, no que se refere ao seu compromisso legal, busca-se responder em que medida os indicadores sociais e econômicos contribuem para a gestão na tomada de decisão. A partir das finalidades dos Institutos Federais, segundo a Lei 11.892/2008, compreende-se que um campus assume o compromisso de contribuir com sua área de abrangência. Questão esta que reclama, entre outros aspectos, no (re) conhecimento constante dos Arranjos Produtivos, Sociais Culturais Locais, sendo o mapeamento das potencialidades socioeconômicas e culturais da realidade, fator indispensável a ser observado, seja no percurso de implantação e implementação de um campus do Instituto Federal, quanto no processo de (re) avaliação contínua de suas ofertas. Quanto à abordagem, a pesquisa caracterizou-se por qualitativa e quantitativa; de natureza aplicada; quanto aos seus objetivos, exploratória e descritiva; bibliográfico/documental e pesquisa de campo em relação aos seus procedimentos.
