Resumo: | Bruxism is a frequent motor habit in the population, currently divided into awake and sleep bruxism. Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) are a group of condition that involves the chewing muscles, the TMJ and associated structures. Both concepts are often mistaken or misunderstood among health professionals and, thus, misdiagnosed and treated. The treatment of these disorders is still a matter of discussion by several health professionals, in view of their multidisciplinary character. Objvective: The aim of this article is to evaluate the knowledge about the concepts and treatment adopted by dentists and physiotherapists, as well as the interdisciplinary interaction between the two areas. Methods: The evaluation was made through a questionnaire and the data obtained was computed, compared and analyzed statistically. Results/conclusion: The study demonstrated that, despite understanding the importance of multidisciplinarity, there is still a lack of knowledge about possible treatment options and concepts. |

Research, Society and Development2022-03-19info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/2730710.33448/rsd-v11i4.27307Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 No. 4; e30511427307Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 Núm. 4; e30511427307Research, Society and Development; v. 11 n. 4; e305114273072525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/27307/23935Copyright (c) 2022 Fernanda Mayrink Gonçalves Liberato; Iolanda Zanotelli Lemos; Nícolas Souza de Souza; Janayna Avance Martins; Lucas Rodrigues Nascimento; Cintia Helena Santuzzi; Gabriela Mayrink Gonçalves Sthelhttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessLiberato, Fernanda Mayrink Gonçalves Lemos, Iolanda Zanotelli Souza, Nícolas Souza de Martins, Janayna Avance Nascimento, Lucas Rodrigues Santuzzi, Cintia Helena Sthel, Gabriela Mayrink Gonçalves 2022-03-27T17:17:09Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/27307Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:45:05.418806Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false |
