Resumo: Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) are alterations of the masticatory system originating in muscles, temporomandibular joints (TMJ) or related structures. There are factors that reduce the adaptive capacity of the stomatognathic system, including occlusal changes, parafunctional habits (bruxism) and physical and emotional stress, and can influence the quality of life of individuals. In view of this, the objective of this study was to correlate the presence of sleep bruxism, waking and both with pain, excessive daytime daytime sleepiness and quality of life of patients Diagnostic Center Clinic and treatment of TMD (NDTDTM). 74 patients were selected aged between 18 and 78 years, with myalgia in muscles of mastication. After the selection, all patients responded Epworth Sleepiness Scale for the diagnosis of high or excessive daytime sleepiness. The presence of bruxism was assessed by questionnaires. The presence of pain was evaluated by anamnesis, on a visual analogue scale second DRC (axis II). They were asked about the pain they felt at the time of consultation, the intensity of the worst pain he felt in the last three months, as the average pain over the last three months. The impact of the DTM quality of life was assessed by the scale of Oral Health Impact Profile - 14 (OHIP - 14). After collection, the data were subjected to statistical analysis using SPSS 20.0 (SPSS, Chicago, IL, USA) with alpha (α) = 0:05, through the Pearson test to verify the correlation between the variables. The patients were divided into 4 groups, they Bruxism Without being, Sleep Bruxism (BS), bruxism in Vigil (BV) and both bruxismos. It was found that the average pain and worst pain felt in the last three months correlated with BV, and the presence of any bruxism correlated positively with decreased quality of life. It can be concluded that bruxism...
