Resumo: Occupational Health is a field in the area of Collective Health, in full construction, whose object is centered on the health-disease process of the various population groups, in their relationship with work, bringing with it the expectation of understanding this dynamic, as well as the development of intervention alternatives, with a view to the appropriation of the “human dimension of work” by the workers themselves. The objective was to assess the relationship between biopsychosocial health indicators and the impact of night work on the mental health of nursing students who work as nursing technicians in the hospital night service. This is a cross-sectional quantitative research, carried out with 30 nursing students from a private institution of Higher Education who were studying between the second and eighth periods. Two data collection instruments were used, one called Matutinidade / Vespertinidade - QMV and the Global Assessment of Mental Health Level - AGNSM. Data analysis was performed with the aid of SPSS 22, using descriptive statistics, using the measures: mean and standard deviation for parametric data, median and interquartile deviation for nonparametric data. It appears that work in the hospital night service can compromise the mental health of the worker, and it is concluded that night work has a direct and indirect influence on the health of the professional, because working in the opposite direction to the physiological functioning of the organism can lead to changes such as psychic, cardiovascular and gastrointestinal disorders, as well as hindering student activities, physical exercises and interpersonal relationships.

Research, Society and Development2020-08-20info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/715110.33448/rsd-v9i9.7151Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 No. 9; e323997151Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 Núm. 9; e323997151Research, Society and Development; v. 9 n. 9; e3239971512525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/7151/6477Copyright (c) 2020 Caroline da Silva França; Andréa Beatriz Machado; Geilsa Soraia Cavalcanti Valentehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessFrança, Caroline da Silva Machado, Andréa Beatriz Valente, Geilsa Soraia Cavalcanti2020-09-18T01:42:11Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/7151Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:29:58.973670Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false
