Resumo: | Water quality comprises in aspects more important for maintaining well-being of the chelonians in captivity. This work aimed to analyze water quality indicators in the creation of scorpion mud turtle (Kinosternon scorpioides). The water quality indicators of dissolved oxygen (OD), pH, orthophosphate (PO4), phosphorus (P), total ammonia (N-NH3), nitrite (N-NO2), nitrate (N-NO3) and temperature (T). The water quality indicators expressed mean values OD of 6.43 to 9.17 mg/L, pH of 6.30, PO4 of 0.74 mg/L, P of 0.24 to 0.41 mg/L, N-NH3 of 1.06 to 1, 86 mg/L, N-NO2 of 0.43 to 1.21 mg/L, N-NO3 of 0.77 to 0.43 mg/L and T from 25.99 to 26.36°C, where the concentration levels were adequate. It is concluded that the parameters of the water quality indicated breeding environment is well oxygenated, pH slightly acidic character, so well the water temperature and the concentrations of ammonia, nitrate and nitrite remained in the appropriate ranges for cultivated species, which by their turn for zootechnical performance. |

Este trabajo tuvo como objetivo analizar los indicadores de calidad del agua en la creación de jurará (Kinosternon scorpioides). Se analizaron los indicadores de calidad del agua de oxígeno disuelto (OD), pH, ortofosfato (PO4), fósforo (P), amoníaco total (N-NH3), nitrito (N-NO2), nitrato (N-NO3), temperatura (T). Los indicadores de calidad del agua expresaron valores medios de OD de 6.43 a 9.17 mg/L, pH de 6.30, PO4 de 0.74 mg/L, P de 0.24 a 0.41 mg/L, N-NH3 de 1.06 a 1.86 mg/L, N-NO2 de 0.43 a 1.21 mg/L, NO3 de 0.77 a 0.43 mg/L y T de 25.99 a 26.36 °C, y los niveles de concentración fueron adecuados. Se concluye que los parámetros de calidad del agua indicaron que el ambiente de reproducción está bien oxigenado, el carácter de pH es ligeramente ácido, así como la temperatura del agua y las concentraciones de amoníaco, nitrato y nitrito se mantuvieron en los rangos apropiados para las especies cultivadas, lo que para corroborado para el rendimiento zootécnico.Qualidade da água compreende em aspectos mais importante para manutenção de bem-estar dos quelônios em cativeiro. Este trabalho objetivou analisar os indicadores da qualidade de água na criação de jurará (Kinosternon scorpioides). Analisaram-se os indicadores de qualidade de água de oxigênio dissolvido (OD), pH, ortofosfato (PO4), fósforo (P), amônia total (N-NH3), nitrito (N-NO2), nitrato (N-NO3) e temperatura (T). Os indicadores de qualidade da água expressaram os valores médios de OD de 6,43 a 9,17 mg/L, pH de 6,30, PO4 de 0,74 mg/L, P de 0,24 a 0,41 mg/L, N-NH3 de 1,06 a 1,86 mg/L, N-NO2 de 0,43 a 1,21 mg/L, NO3 de 0,77 a 0,43 mg/L e T de 25,99 a 26,36°C, sendo que os níveis concentrações estavam adequados.
