Management of nursing care for athletes with musculoskeletal injuries: An experience of Specialized Care Centers in Traumatology and Orthopedics

Resumo: | Objective: To report the experience of nursing care for athletes with musculoskeletal injuries in Specialized Care Centers (CAE) in Traumatology and Orthopedics. Methodology: Descriptive study in the experience report modality regarding nursing care for athletes with musculoskeletal injuries, developed from 2017 to 2020, at the Specialized Care Centers in Traumatology and Orthopedics of a federal public hospital, in high complexity care, from the municipality of Rio de Janeiro. Result: Nurse care in Specialized Care Centers re-signifies the assistance provided to athletes with musculoskeletal injuries, contributing to reduce kinesiophobia and their return to sports activities. The flow of care advocates the nurse as a reference in the care of this clientele, favoring the interrelationship between athlete-family-professional. Conclusion: The care in the patient-centered management model, defended by the CAEs, represents a differential in the integral follow-up that begins with the entry into the health institution until the end of the treatment, making it possible to promote health, rehabilitate injuries and facilitate the return to sports with greater confidence involving the athlete and the family in decision making. |

Metodología: Estudio descriptivo en la modalidad de relato de experiencia en cuanto a la atención de enfermería a deportistas con lesiones musculoesqueléticas, desarrollado de 2017 a 2020, en los Centros de Atención Especializada en Traumatología y Ortopedia de un hospital público federal, en atención de alta complejidad, del municipio de Rio de janeiro. Resultado: La atención de enfermería en los Centros de Atención Especializada resignifica la asistencia brindada a los deportistas con lesiones musculoesqueléticas, contribuyendo para la reducción de la kinesiofobia y su reincorporación a las actividades deportivas. El flujo de atención preconiza al enfermero como referente en el cuidado de esa clientela, favoreciendo la interrelación atleta-familia-profesional. Conclusión: La atención en el modelo de gestión centrado en el paciente, defendido por los CAE, representa un diferencial en el seguimiento integral que se inicia con el ingreso a la institución de salud hasta el final del tratamiento, posibilitando promover la salud, rehabilitar lesiones y facilitar la vuelta a la práctica deportiva con mayor confianza implicando al deportista y a la familia en la toma de decisiones.Objetivo: Relatar a experiência dos cuidados de enfermagem a atleta com lesão musculoesquelética nos Centros de Atenção Especializada (CAE) em Traumatologia e Ortopedia. Metodologia: Estudo descritivo na modalidade relato de experiência referente ao cuidado de enfermagem a atletas com lesões musculoesqueléticas, desenvolvido no período de 2017 a 2020, nos Centros de Atenção Especializada em Traumatologia e Ortopedia de um hospital público federal, na assistência de alta complexidade, do município do Rio de Janeiro. Resultado: O cuidado do enfermeiro nos Centros de Atenção Especializada ressignifica a assistência prestada ao atleta com lesão musculoesquelética contribuindo para reduzir a cinesiofobia e o retorno do mesmo as atividades esportivas. O fluxo do atendimento preconiza o enfermeiro como referência no cuidado a esta clientela favorecendo a interrelação entre atleta- família – profissional.
