Resumo: | The final disposal of solid waste produced on a daily basis has become an obstacle, generating a source of several environmental impacts, favoring environmental degradation. To minimize these effects, there are some final disposal methods such as: dumps; landfills (controlled and sanitary); composting and recycling. However the most used in the Northeast region are the dumps, however, this method is the most aggressive to the environment. In this context, it is necessary to carry out a preliminary risk analysis and Checklist in order to predict how much residues can harm soil, water and air of a given locality, thus determining its risks and dangers. This research was based on the evaluation of the environmental damages diagnosed through the knowledge of the risks and dangers presented in the management of urban solid waste and in the dump. Initially a questionnaire was developed to be applied to garbage collectors responsible for selective collection of landfill and recycling cooperative of mentioned municipality. After the first step, data on the risks and dangers of these materials were quantified. Results obtained through the questionnaire responses confirmed that garbage collectors do not use all personal protective equipment and are exposed to risks and possible dangers. Quantification of level of average risk was critical and magnitude of dangers was average, values worrisome, but possible to be reversed. |

Para minimizar estos efectos, existen algunos métodos de eliminación final como: vertederos; rellenos sanitarios (controlados y sanitarios); compostaje y reciclaje. Sin embargo, los más utilizados en la región noreste son los vertederos, sin embargo, este método es el más agresivo para el medio ambiente. En este contexto, es necesario llevar a cabo un análisis de riesgo preliminar y la Lista de verificación para predecir cuánto desperdicio puede dañar el suelo, el agua y el aire de un lugar determinado, determinando así sus riesgos y peligros. Esta investigación se basó en la evaluación del daño ambiental diagnosticado a través del conocimiento de los riesgos y peligros presentados en la gestión de residuos sólidos urbanos y el vertedero. Inicialmente se elaboró un cuestionario para ser aplicado a los barrenderos y recolectores responsables de la recolección selectiva del basurero y la cooperativa de reciclaje de ese municipio. Después del primer paso, se cuantificaron los datos sobre los riesgos y peligros de estos materiales. Los resultados obtenidos a través de las respuestas de los cuestionarios demostraron que los barrenderos y recolectores no utilizan todo el equipo de protección personal, quedando expuestos a posibles riesgos y peligros de trabajo. La cuantificación del nivel de riesgo promedio fue crítica y la magnitud del peligro fue media, valores preocupantes pero reversibles.A disposição final dos resíduos sólidos produzidos diariamente tornou-se um empecilho, sendo fonte geradora de diversos impactos ambientais, favorecendo a degradação ambiental. Para minimizar esses efeitos, existem alguns métodos de disposição final como: lixões; aterros sanitários (controlado e sanitário); compostagem e reciclagem. Porém o mais utilizado na região Nordeste são os lixões, todavia, este método e o mais agressivo ao meio ambiente. Nesse contexto, é necessário realizar uma análise preliminar de riscos e o Checklist com o intuito de prever o quanto os resíduos podem prejudicar o solo, a água e o ar de determinada localidade, determinando assim seus riscos e perigos. Esta pesquisa foi baseada na avaliação dos danos ambientais diagnosticados por meio do conhecimento dos riscos e perigos apresentados no gerenciamento dos resíduos sólidos urbanos e no lixão. Inicialmente foi elaborado um questionário para ser aplicado aos garis e catadores responsáveis pela coleta seletiva do lixão e da cooperativa de reciclagem do referido município. Após a primeira etapa, foram quantificados os dados acerca dos riscos e perigos desses materiais. Os resultados obtidos por meio das respostas dos questionários comprovaram que os garis e coletores não usam todos os equipamentos de proteção individual, sendo expostos a riscos e perigos eventuais do trabalho.
