Resumo: | This study aims to understand the perceptions of leaders of the Immediate Intermediate region of Erechim about Climate Change (CC), identifying whether personal and cultural factors interfere with those perceptions. It is characterized as a diagnostic-evaluative research, which integrates qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data collection was performed through an anonymous, online questionnaire, consisting of open and closed questions. The study included 56 leaders working in the areas of Health, Environment, Social Assistance, Agriculture, Education, Executive/Legislative, as well as in different Religious Institutions. The research participants understand CC as general changes in the climate, presenting difficulty in dissociating the concept from the impacts experienced. In the perception of leaders, CC is mainly caused by anthropic actions, such as deforestation and environmental pollution. In general, they perceive the risks of CC in the social, economic and environmental spheres, especially those generated for agricultural production. They recognize that all human groups are or will be impacted by CC, but highlight the vulnerability of the poorest population. They emphasize the importance of the adoption of strategies to combat CC, such as the adoption of public policies and environmental education projects/actions and public awareness. The research pointed out that it is extremely relevant that leaders expand their perceptions about CC and perceive the need to act seeking their mitigation and coping. |

Research, Society and Development2022-04-14info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/2835110.33448/rsd-v11i5.28351Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 No. 5; e49811528351Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 Núm. 5; e49811528351Research, Society and Development; v. 11 n. 5; e498115283512525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/28351/24786Copyright (c) 2022 Júlia Gollo Sarnoski; Sônia Beatris Balvedi Zakrzevskihttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSarnoski, Júlia GolloZakrzevski, Sônia Beatris Balvedi 2022-04-17T18:18:56Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/28351Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:45:47.303964Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false |
