Dermeval Saviani's conception of education - Preliminary analysis of the works “School and democracy” and “Historical-critical pedagogy: first approaches”

Resumo: | This work’s intention is to do a preliminary analysis of Dermeval Saviani’s works “School and Democracy” and “Historical-critical pedagogy: initial approaches” aiming to unveil the conception of Education built by the author, as well as its perspectives regarding the working class in the educational field. In this way, we used as methodological itinerary the comparative bibliographic research, sustained by the analytical categories of the historical materialism understanding the reality as a social construct. Saviani is one of the most important brazilian education theorists, and both of the works selected for this paper are literary classics about education. Dermeval over the last fifty years dedicated to this theme, developed a counter hegemonic idea of education focused on providing the working class with the necessary knowledge to understand the production process, as well as their formation as active citizens with a critical sense. |

En este sentido, la investigación bibliográfica comparativa, basada en las categorías analíticas del materialismo histórico, entendiendo la realidad como una construcción social, se utiliza como un itinerario metodológico. Saviani es parte de la lista de los teóricos más importantes de la educación brasileña, las dos obras seleccionadas son verdaderos clásicos de la literatura nacional sobre educación. Dermeval, más de cincuenta años dedicado a este tema, elabora un pensamiento antihegemónico de la educación dedicado a equipar a la clase trabajadora con el conocimiento necesario para comprender el proceso productivo, así como la formación de ciudadanos críticos y activos.Este trabalho pretende fazer uma análise preliminar das obras “Escola e Democracia” e “Pedagogia histórico-crítica: primeiras aproximações” de Dermeval Saviani para desvelar a concepção de Educação construída pelo autor, bem como as perspectivas apontadas para a classe trabalhadora no campo educacional. Neste sentido utiliza-se como itinerário metodológico a pesquisa bibliográfica comparativa, amparada nas categorias analíticas do materialismo histórico entendendo a realidade como um construto social. Saviani insere-se no rol dos mais importantes teóricos brasileiros da educação, sendo as duas obras selecionadas verdadeiros clássicos da Literatura nacional sobre educação. Dermeval ao longo de cerca de cinquenta anos dedicados a essa temática, elabora um pensamento contra hegemônico de educação dedicado a munir a classe trabalhadora dos conhecimentos necessários à compreensão do processo produtivo, bem como a formação de cidadãos críticos e ativos.
