Resumo: Objective: to reflect on actions related to patient safety in the pandemic. Methodology: theoretical-reflective essay, produced from the critical analysis of national and international literature on patient safety in the new Coronavirus pandemic. Results: the pandemic has been reflected in several sectors of society and, consequently, in patient care. As actions related to patient safety in the face of the new Coronavirus, used and suggested by regulatory bodies and health institutions, the following stand out: review of care flows and protocols; reinforcement of international patient safety goals, such as hand and hand hygiene and effective communication; use of quality indicators; team training; managerial actions; creation of crisis committees; health education and other innovative initiatives. Final considerations: the pandemic reinforces the importance of patient safety and rescues actions and strategies for safe and quality care, as well as overcoming emerging challenges.

Metodología: ensayo teórico-reflexivo, elaborado a partir del análisis crítico de la literatura nacional e internacional sobre la seguridad del paciente en la nueva pandemia de Coronavirus. Resultados: la pandemia se ha reflejado en varios sectores de la sociedad y, en consecuencia, en la atención al paciente. Como acciones relacionadas con la seguridad del paciente ante el nuevo Coronavirus, utilizadas y sugeridas por organismos reguladores e instituciones de salud, destacan: revisión de flujos y protocolos de atención; refuerzo de los objetivos internacionales de seguridad del paciente, como higiene de manos y manos y comunicación eficaz; uso de indicadores de calidad; entrenamiento en equipo; acciones gerenciales; creación de comités de crisis; educación sanitaria y otras iniciativas innovadoras. Consideraciones finales: la pandemia refuerza la importancia de la seguridad del paciente y rescata acciones y estrategias para una atención segura y de calidad, así como la superación de los desafíos emergentes.Objetivo: refletir sobre ações relacionadas à segurança do paciente na pandemia. Metodologia: ensaio teórico-reflexivo, produzido a partir da análise crítica da literatura nacional e internacional sobre segurança do paciente na pandemia do novo Coronavírus. Resultados: a pandemia tem refletido em diversos setores da sociedade e consequentemente na assistencial ao paciente.
