Strategies and challenges in maintaining the mental health of nursing professionals in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic

Resumo: | To analyze published scientific evidence on strategies and challenges in maintaining the mental health of nursing professionals in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. This study is a literature review of the integrative literature review method, carried out in the months between January and May 2021. The search was carried out through the Virtual Health Library Platform - VHL, using databases (LILACS) , (BDENF), through (SCIELO). Adhering through the descriptors/key words: “Nursing”, “Mental Health”, “Covid-19”, combined with the Boolean operator “AND”. The professional is exposed and can lead to psychological distress, high stress, anxiety, depression. These comorbidities, when present, can negatively impact job satisfaction, resulting in damage to care, quality of care and patient safety. It is currently common to identify symptoms of anxiety and depression and the great impact that these manifestations have on the well-being and daily activities of health workers. In nursing, there is a large index of these psychic manifestations among professionals. It is noteworthy that all these stressors related to nursing work tend to be exacerbated in the face of a calamity scenario such as the one that has been installed in recent times, as the world is currently going through a period of turmoil resulting from the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus. In this context, it is necessary to implement psychological support interventions for this group, considering that health professionals are at significantly high risk and have psychopathologies such as: anxiety, depression, stress, insomnia, fear, PTSD, syndrome of Burnout. |

El presente estudio es una revisión bibliográfica del método de revisión integradora de la literatura, realizado en los meses comprendidos entre enero y mayo de 2021. La búsqueda se realizó a través de la Plataforma de Biblioteca Virtual en Salud - BVS, utilizando bases de datos (LILACS), (BDENF), a través de (SCIELO). Adhiriéndose a los descriptores / palabras clave: “Enfermería”, “Salud Mental”, “Covid-19”, combinado con el operador booleano “Y”. El profesional está expuesto y puede provocar angustia psicológica, mucho estrés, ansiedad, depresión. Estas comorbilidades, cuando están presentes, pueden tener un impacto negativo en la satisfacción laboral, resultando en daños a la atención, la calidad de la atención y la seguridad del paciente. Actualmente es común identificar síntomas de ansiedad y depresión y el gran impacto que estas manifestaciones tienen en el bienestar y la actividad diaria de los trabajadores de la salud. En enfermería, existe un gran índice de estas manifestaciones psíquicas entre los profesionales. Es de destacar que todos estos estresores relacionados con el trabajo de enfermería tienden a agravarse ante un escenario catastrófico como el que se ha instalado en los últimos tiempos, ya que el mundo atraviesa actualmente un período de convulsión derivado de la pandemia provocada. por el nuevo coronavirus. En este contexto, es necesario implementar intervenciones de apoyo psicológico para este grupo, considerando que los profesionales de la salud tienen un riesgo significativamente alto y tienen psicopatologías como: ansiedad, depresión, estrés, insomnio, miedo, TEPT, síndrome de Burnout.Analisar as evidências científicas publicadas sobre as estratégias e desafios em manter a saúde mental dos profissionais de enfermagem no contexto da pandemia Covid-19. Aderindo-se através dos descritores/palavras chaves: “Enfermagem”, “Saúde Mental”, “Covid-19”, combinados com o operador booleano “AND”. O profissional fica exposto e pode levar à ocorrência de desgastes psicológicos, estresse elevado, ansiedade, depressão. Essas comorbidades, quando se fazem presentes, podem impactar negativamente na satisfação com o trabalho, resultando em prejuízos na assistência, qualidade do cuidado e segurança do paciente. É comum atualmente identificar sintomas de ansiedade e depressão e o grande impacto que essas manifestações causam sobre o bem-estar e as atividades diárias dos trabalhadores da saúde. Na enfermagem, percebe-se um grande índice dessas manifestações psíquicas entre os profissionais. Destaca-se que todos esses fatores estressores relacionados à atuação da enfermagem tendem a se exacerbarem diante de um cenário de calamidade como o qual têm se instalado nos últimos tempos, pois o mundo atualmente está passando por um período de turbulência decorrente da pandemia ocasionada pelo novo coronavírus.
