Resumo: Environmental changes have been occurring over time across the planet, ending what we know today as an environmental crisis. Environmental problems are, fundamentally, problems of knowledge, then called the crisis of reason. The objective of the present work was to seek to answer how countries can achieve a planetary economy that respects the limits of use of natural resources without compromising future generations, based on the Theory of Growth proposed by Nicholas Georgescu-Roegen. The traditional economy has a vision of the economic system as a circular and closed system, therefore, not considering any connections that may exist between the ecological system and the activities of producing and consuming. This has led humanity to countless socio-environmental problems, such as devastation of forests, loss of biodiversity, depletion of natural resources, global climate change, among countless other problems of an environmental nature, generating high entropy. For civilization to live on a balanced planet, the transformation of natural resources must be rethought, appropriating a new rationality, based on environmental knowledge.

For civilization to live on a balanced planet, the transformation of natural resources must be rethought, appropriating a new rationality, based on environmental knowledge.
