Resumo: | A frequent monitoring of the blood arterial pressure, associated with an adequate drug prescription for patients with systemic arterial hypertension, proves to be a challenge when it comes to standardized therapeutic recommendations for the control of hypertension. The present study aimed to show the pharmacological profile of the antihypertensive drugs use by patients in treatment at health units and the adequacy of the prescriptions to the Brazilian hypertension guideline. This is a cross-sectional study, from secondary data present in patient medical records. The data were compared with recommendations for antihypertensive prescriptions present in the Brazilian hypertension guidelines, and analyzes of absolute and relative frequencies were described. It was observed that diuretics and ACE inhibitors were the most prescribed drug classes. Prescription of only one antihypertensive was more prevalent among those patients with up to 5 years of hypertension diagnosis. Divergences with the guideline recommendations were observed, mainly, in prescriptions involving two or more medications, representing a percentage of 16% of them. |
