Resumo: Objective: To understand how PICS are used during labor. Methodology: this is an integrative review based on the literature on the subject under study. Based on scientific articles located in the Scielos and BVS databases in scientific works from 2015 to 2021, using the following descriptors: Humanized childbirth, PICS in labor. Conclusion: it was generally demonstrated that PICS contribute positively to labor, as they are capable of inducing labor, relieving pain and favoring the progression of parturition. The use of PICS is able to reduce the time of delivery, assist in fetal positioning and also in the physical and mental reestablishment of the puerperal woman. It is suggested that PICS be widely disseminated and worked on in universities, expanding the training of professionals.

Basado en artículos científicos ubicados en las bases de datos Scielos y BVS en trabajos científicos de 2015 a 2021, utilizando los siguientes descriptores: Parto humanizado, PICS en trabajo de parto. Conclusión: en general se demostró que los PICS contribuyen positivamente al trabajo de parto, ya que son capaces de inducir el trabajo de parto, aliviar el dolor y favorecer la progresión del parto. El uso del PICS logra reducir el tiempo de parto, auxiliar en el posicionamiento fetal y también en el restablecimiento físico y psíquico de la puérpera. Se sugiere que el PICS sea ampliamente difundido y trabajado en las universidades, ampliando la formación de profesionales.Objetivo: Compreender como as PICS são utilizadas junto ao trabalho de parto. Metodologia: trata-se de uma revisão integrativa baseada na literatura atinente a temática objeto de estudo. Com base nos artigos científicos localizados nas bases de dados Scielos e BVS em obras científicas no período de 2015 à 2021, utilizando os seguintes descritores: Parto humanizado, PICS no trabalho de parto. Conclusão: demonstrou-se de forma geral que as PICS contribuem positivamente para o trabalho de parto, já que são capazes de induzir o parto, aliviam a dor e favorecem a progressão da parturição. O uso das PICS é capaz de diminuir o tempo do parto, auxiliar no posicionamento fetal e ainda no reestabelecimento físico e mental da puérpera.
