Motivational profile of participants in a home physical activity program during the COVID-19 pandemic

Resumo: | Introduction: For the promotion of physical activities with adherence adjustments, if necessary, understanding all levels of factors that can influence participation. Objective: To identify the motivational profile of participants in a physical activity program and the reasons for which participants seek the project. Methodology: This is a descriptive study based on the remote physical activity program proposed during the pandemic by “Musculação UESC” extension project. A total of 125 applicants were contacted to conduct an interview via call for a pre-assessment of participation. In this pre-assessment, the instruments an, PAR-Q, online motivational profiles (IMPRAF-54 and BREQ-3) were used, all adapted in form. Of these, 39 agreed to participate in the interviews carried out by one of the members of the Extension Project team. Results: the participants showed a motivational profile with the highest intrinsic motivation and the most self-determined types of behavioral regulations identified. The main reasons reported by the participants were related to pleasure and health considered as more intrinsic reasons. A trend was observed among men who were identified as having the highest Indicator Scores, presented and in which the greatest reasons for competition and pleasure. The reasons were correlated with the identified solutions, regulation and intrinsic regulation, of more self-determined regulations. And it was age correlated with the identified. Conclusion: The participants in a program of remote physical activities during a pandemic have more self-determined behavioral regulations and intrinsic motives. Objetivo: Identificar el perfil motivacional de los participantes de un programa de actividad física domiciliaria y las razones por las cuales estos participantes buscaron el proyecto. Métodos: Se contactó a un total de 125 postulantes para realizar una entrevista vía llamada para una pre-evaluación de participación. En esta preevaluación se utilizaron los cuestionarios de anamnesis, PAR-Q y perfil motivacional (IMPRAF-54 y BREQ-3), todos adaptados a formularios en línea. De estas, 39 personas aceptaron participar en las entrevistas realizadas por uno de los miembros del equipo del Proyecto de Extensión. Resultados: Los participantes presentaron un perfil motivacional con indicadores más altos de motivación intrínseca e identificaron tipos de normas conductuales más autodeterminadas. Los principales motivos relatados por los participantes estaban relacionados con el placer y la salud considerados como motivos más intrínsecos. Se observó una tendencia entre los hombres a presentar puntuaciones más altas de regulación identificada, y en los motivos indicadores más altos de competitividad y placer. Los motivos de salud y placer se correlacionaron con la regulación identificada, la regulación integrada y la regulación intrínseca, tipos de regulación más autodeterminados. Y la edad se correlacionó con la regulación identificada. Conclusión: Los participantes en un programa de actividad física a distancia durante la pandemia tienen más regulaciones de comportamiento autodeterminadas y motivos intrínsecos.Introdução: Para promoção efetiva de atividades físicas com maiores níveis de adesão se faz necessário a compreensão de todos os fatores que podem influenciar na participação. Objetivo: Identificar o perfil motivacional dos participantes de um programa de atividade física domiciliar e os motivos pelos quais esses participantes procuraram o projeto. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo de caráter descritivo a partir do programa de atividades físicas remoto proposto durante a pandemia pelo projeto de extensão “Musculação UESC”. Um total de 125 inscritos foram contatados para realizarem uma entrevista via chamada para uma pré-avaliação de participação. Nessa pré-avaliação foram utilizados os instrumentos anamnese, PAR-Q, questionários de perfil motivacional (IMPRAF-54 e BREQ-3), todos adaptados em formulários online. Desses, 39 indivíduos concordaram em participar das entrevistas realizadas por um dos integrantes da equipe do Projeto de Extensão. Resultados: Os participantes apresentaram um perfil motivacional com maiores indicadores de motivação intrínseca e regulação identificada tipos de regulações comportamentais mais autodeterminadas. Os principais motivos reportados pelos participantes foram relacionados ao prazer e a saúde considerados como motivos mais intrínsecos. Foi observado uma tendência entre os homens em apresentar maiores escores de regulação identificada, e nos motivos maiores indicadores de competitividade e prazer. Os motivos de saúde e prazer foram correlacionados com regulação identificada, regulação integrada e regulação intrínseca, tipos de regulações mais autodeterminadas. E a idade foi correlacionada com a regulação identificada. Conclusão: Os participantes de um programa de atividades físicas remoto durante a pandemia apresentam regulações comportamentais mais autodeterminadas e motivos intrínsecos.
