Resumo: | The new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) is from the subfamily Betacoronavirus, highly pathogenic and responsible for causing severe acute respiratory syndrome. It can be transmitted by interpersonal contact through the inhalation of contaminated droplets, or by indirect contact with a contaminated surface. The dental office can be a place of potential contamination by the spread of aerosol containing saliva/blood, in addition to very close contact with the professional and equipment. The incubation period of the virus can reach more than six days, and the manifestation of the disease can include fever, cough, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, muscle pain, among other symptoms; laboratory tests demonstrate lymphocytopenia, leukopenia and increased C-reactive protein. Measures to protect against the contamination of the new coronavirus are necessary even in patients who have no symptoms. During the period of social distance proposed as a method to prevent the spread of the virus, the dental surgeon must incorporate extra care in preventing the spread of the disease, using personal protective equipment and cleaning the equipment and the environment in an appropriate manner. study was to carry out a literature review on dental care during the COVID-19 pandemic period. In this way, it is up to everyone to follow the pre-established preventive protocols, aim for diagnostic methods that are more accessible to the general population and wait for an effective immunization system. |

Research, Society and Development2020-09-06info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/788410.33448/rsd-v9i9.7884Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 No. 9; e751997884Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 Núm. 9; e751997884Research, Society and Development; v. 9 n. 9; e7519978842525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/7884/6964Copyright (c) 2020 Michelly Cauás de Queiroz Gatis; Livia Mirelle Barbosa; João Luiz Gomes Carneiro Monteiro; Thaisa Reis de Carvalho Sampaio; José Brasiliense Holanda Cavalcanti Filho; Belmiro Cavalcanti do Egito Vasconcelos https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessGatis, Michelly Cauás de Queiroz Barbosa, Livia MirelleMonteiro, João Luiz Gomes Carneiro Sampaio, Thaisa Reis de Carvalho Cavalcanti Filho, José Brasiliense Holanda Vasconcelos , Belmiro Cavalcanti do Egito 2020-09-18T01:42:11Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/7884Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:30:28.555313Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false |
