Resumo: | This article, a product of the Brazilian Basic School classes, developed in the Graduate Program in Management and Curriculum of the Basic School (PPEB), at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), aimed to analyze how large-scale assessments in Brazil, carried out by the Basic Education Assessment System (Saeb), are fulfilling their functions to improve the quality of public education. The research methodologically used the bibliographic review of the narrative type, with theoretical foundations based, above all, on Souza, Werle and Carvalho, Carvalho and Junior who address the large-scale evaluation policy in Brazil, which revealed the lack of continuing education for teachers and for the school management team, as well as the emergence of assessment and tutoring industries, curriculum minimization and the transformation of the teacher into a simple learning technician. |

La investigación utilizó metodológicamente la revisión bibliográfica de tipo narrativo, con fundamentos teóricos basados, sobre todo, en Souza, Werle y Carvalho, Carvalho y Junior que abordan la evaluación de políticas de gran envergadura en Brasil, que reveló la falta de formación continua de los docentes. y para el equipo directivo de la escuela, así como el surgimiento de las industrias de evaluación y tutorización, la minimización curricular y la transformación del docente en un simple técnico del aprendizaje.Este artigo, produto das aulas da disciplina Escola Básica Brasileira, desenvolvido no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Gestão e Currículo da Escola Básica (PPEB), da Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA), objetivou analisar como as avaliações em larga escala no Brasil, realizadas pelo Sistema de Avaliação da Educação Básica (SAEB), estão cumprindo suas funções para a melhoria da qualidade do ensino público.
