This text aims to present the panorama and provoke a reflection on the results of mathematics learning in high school in Brazil and in the state of Goiás. For this, a qualitative quantitative survey of the results of the three large-scale assessments in the last 12 years, PISA (internationally), SAEB (nationally) and SAEGO (statewide). The data obtained show that the three evaluations present unsatisfactory results, demonstrating that teaching Mathematics learning in High School does not meet the minimum needs indispensable to students. However, the results reveal that large-scale evaluation is a fundamental factor for the qualification of education, as it involves not only specific knowledge about school content, but also socio-emotional issues. In addition, they provoke a positive concern in everyone involved in the educational process, prompting them to leave their comfort zone to seek public strategies and policies in order to achieve better results in the indicators.
