Resumo: Objective: To report the experience of a group that promotes the practice of kinotherapy with people admitted to a Psychosocial Care Unit. Methodology: This is an experience report lived by the extension project team “Humanizing Practices of Mental Health Care” of the “Mental Health Care and Health Training Research Group” at the Federal University of Santa Maria. The kinotherapy was performed with users who are hospitalized in a Psychosocial Care Unit of a University Hospital in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. The practices lasted around 60 minutes, being performed in the hospital's courtyard once a week with average participation. of 20 people. Results: Cinoterapia has the purpose of helping social, educational and therapeutic interactions based on the contact and socialization of the participant with the dog. Through the mediation of health professionals, participants are encouraged as to their personal skills and abilities, as well as the promotion of self-care, being a practice recognized by the team that accompanies users. Conclusion: It is understood that the process of humanizing mental health care is necessary and should be disseminated through studies, since kinotherapy favors, in addition to new interpersonal and affective relationships with other people in the environment, a clinical improvement symptoms manifested by users.

Metodología: Este es un informe de experiencia vivido por el equipo del proyecto de extensión “Humanizing Practices of Mental Health Care” del “Mental Health Care and Health Training Research Group” en la Universidad Federal de Santa María. La cinoterapia se realizó con usuarios que están hospitalizados en una Unidad de Atención Psicosocial de un Hospital Universitario en el Estado de Rio Grande do Sul. Las prácticas duraron alrededor de 60 minutos y se realizaron en el patio del hospital una vez por semana con una participación promedio de 20 personas. Resultados: cinoterapia tiene el propósito de ayudar a las interacciones sociales, educativas y terapéuticas basadas en el contacto y la socialización del participante con el perro. Mediante la mediación de profesionales de la salud, se alienta a los participantes en cuanto a sus habilidades y capacidades personales, así como a la promoción del autocuidado, siendo una práctica reconocida por el equipo que acompaña a los usuarios. Conclusión: se entiende que el proceso de humanización de la atención de la salud mental es necesario y debe difundirse a través de estudios, ya que la quimioterapia favorece, además de las nuevas relaciones interpersonales y afectivas con otras personas en el medio ambiente, una mejora clínica síntomas manifestados por los usuarios.Objetivo: Relatar a experiência de um grupo que promove a prática de cinoterapia com pessoas internadas em Unidade de Atenção Psicossocial. Metodologia: Trata-se de um relato de experiência vivenciado pela equipe do projeto de extensão “Práticas Humanizadoras do Cuidado em Saúde Mental” do “Grupo de Pesquisa Cuidado em Saúde Mental e Formação em Saúde” da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria. A cinoterapia foi realizada com usuários que estão internados em uma Unidade de Atenção Psicossocial de um Hospital Universitário no Estado do Rio Grande do Sul. As práticas duravam em torno de 60 minutos, sendo realizadas no pátio do referido hospital uma vez na semana com participação média de 20 pessoas. Resultados: A cinoterapia tem o propósito de auxiliar as interações sociais, educacionais e terapêuticas a partir do contato e da socialização do participante com o cão. Pela mediação de profissionais da saúde, os participantes são estimulados quanto suas habilidades e capacidades pessoais, bem como a promoção do autocuidado, sendo uma prática reconhecida pela equipe que acompanha os usuários.
