Importance of nursing care for patients with oral maxillofacial trauma

Resumo: | Objective: The objective of this study was to describe the importance of nursing care for patients with maxillofacial trauma. Methods: The integrative research method was used, in which 10 scientific articles made available in full, in the last 10 years, selected from the Virtual Health Library (VHL) and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), comprised the analyzed sample. Results: The results showed that in all publications, nursing was essential in all phases that involved the initial care in urgency and emergency, aiming at the stabilization of the patient, going through surgery, rehabilitation and, his reinsertion in society, prioritizing a agile, quality, safe, individualized and comprehensive service. It was also analyzed that even in face of such importance there is a limited number of publications not only involving nursing, but other professionals who are fundamental in the recovery of these patients. Conclusion: It is concluded that this study will contribute to enhance, even more, nursing care for trauma victims and in particular face trauma, stimulating interest for new research related to the theme and also involving other essential professional areas. in the recovery and social reintegration process of these patients. |

Métodos: Se utilizó el método de investigación integradora, en el cual 10 artículos científicos puestos a disposición en su totalidad, en los últimos 10 años, seleccionados de la Biblioteca Virtual en Salud (BVS) y Biblioteca Científica Electrónica en Línea (SciELO), conformaron la muestra analizada. Resultados: Los resultados mostraron que en todas las publicaciones, la enfermería fue fundamental en todas las fases que involucraron la atención inicial en urgencia y emergencia, con el objetivo de la estabilización del paciente, pasando por la cirugía, la rehabilitación y su reinserción en la sociedad, priorizando una Servicio ágil, de calidad, seguro, individualizado e integral. También se analizó que aún frente a tal importancia hay un número limitado de publicaciones que involucran no solo a la enfermería, sino a otros profesionales que son fundamentales en la recuperación de estos pacientes. Conclusión: Se concluye que este estudio contribuirá a potenciar, aún más, la atención de enfermería a las víctimas de trauma y en particular al trauma cara, estimulando el interés por nuevas investigaciones relacionadas con la temática e involucrando también otras áreas profesionales esenciales, en el proceso de recuperación y reintegración social de estos pacientes.Objetivo: Objetivou-se com o trabalho descrever a importância da assistência de enfermagem a pacientes com trauma bucomaxilofacial. Métodos: Utilizou-se o método de pesquisa integrativa, em que 10 artigos científicos disponibilizados na íntegra, nos últimos 10 anos, selecionados na Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde (BVS) e Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), compuseram a amostra analisada. Resultados: Os resultados demonstraram que em todas as publicações a enfermagem foi essencial em todas as fases que envolviam o atendimento inicial na urgência e emergência, visando à estabilização do paciente, passando pela cirurgia, a reabilitação e, a sua reinserção na sociedade, priorizando um atendimento ágil, com qualidade, seguro, individualizado e integral. Analisou-se também que mesmo diante de tal importância existe um número limitado de publicações não só envolvendo a enfermagem, mas outros profissionais que são fundamentais na recuperação desses pacientes.
