The importance of the performance of obstetric nurses in primary care

Resumo: Attention to care for the pregnant woman and the newborn represents a priority field within the health care of the populations and, in order for it to develop in a more effective / efficient way, a solid performance of the services and the health care system is necessary. Cheers. This study aimed to explain about the importance of the role of the obstetric nurse in primary care. For the construction of the article, a integrative literature review was carried out on articles in the Scielo, PubMed and Lilacs databases, published in the last ten years, in Portuguese, English and Spanish. The results showed that such action must be initiated from conception (pregnancy) and perpetuated after birth, in the puerperium. The survival and quality of life of women and children depend on the care provided, and this care must be carried out in a humanized and ethical manner. Thus, we can conclude that care policies should seek to intensify care for the newborn in the first week after delivery, a period in which the highest number of infant deaths is concentrated. Therefore, we seek to provide care for the mother / child in the most diverse strategic ways, including through home visits by the family health teams, an attention recommended by the Ministry of Health to be carried out in the newborn's first week of life, in addition to all the woman's pregnancy monitoring.

Salud. El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo explicar la importancia del papel de la enfermera obstétrica en la atención primaria. Para la construcción del artículo, se realizó una revisión bibliográfica integradora de artículos en las bases de datos Scielo, PubMed y Lilacs, publicados en los últimos diez años, en portugués, inglés y español. Los resultados mostraron que dicha acción debe iniciarse desde la concepción (embarazo) y perpetuarse después del nacimiento, en el puerperio. La supervivencia y la calidad de vida de las mujeres y los niños dependen de la atención brindada, y esta atención debe llevarse a cabo de manera humanizada y ética. Por lo tanto, podemos concluir que las políticas de atención deben tratar de intensificar la atención al recién nacido en la primera semana después del parto, un período en el que se concentra el mayor número de muertes infantiles. Por lo tanto, buscamos brindar atención a la madre / hijo de las formas estratégicas más diversas, incluso a través de visitas domiciliarias por parte de los equipos de salud familiar, una atención recomendada por el Ministerio de Salud para que se realice en la primera semana de vida del recién nacido Además de todo el control del embarazo de la mujer.A atenção aos cuidados para com a gestante e para com o recém-nascido representa um campo prioritário dentro dos cuidados à saúde das populações e, para que se desenvolva de forma mais efetiva/eficiente, é necessária uma atuação sólida dos serviços e do sistema de saúde. O presente estudo teve como objetivo explanar, na literatura científica, a cerca da importância da atuação do enfermeiro obstetra na atenção básica. Para a construção do artigo, foi realizada uma revisão integrativa da literatura em artigos constantes nas bases de dados Scielo, PubMed e Lilacs, publicados nos últimos dez anos, em português, inglês e espanhol. Os resultados apontaram que a tal atuação deve ser iniciada desde a concepção (gravidez) e perpetuar-se após o nascimento, no puerpério. A sobrevivência e a qualidade de vida das mulheres e das crianças dependem dos cuidados prestados, devendo ser esse cuidado realizado de forma humanizada e ética. Desta forma, podemos concluir que políticas de atenção devem buscar se intensificar aos cuidados com o recém-nascido na primeira semana após o parto, período em que se concentra o maior número de óbitos infantis.
