Resumo: | The current great challenge of civil construction is to be able to reduce the impacts caused by the processes, such as the generation of waste; consumption of raw materials; and the exaggerated consumption of polymers (plastics) by society. In order to reconcile these problems, this article sought to evaluate the replacement of coarse aggregate (gravel) in concrete with PET waste for the manufacture of cobogós blocks. For that, a modified concrete mixture was used as a method, where there was the total replacement of the coarse aggregate (gravel) by PET, these concretes were evaluated by means of the axial compression test at 7, 14 and 21 days. As a result, a strength of 4.07 MPa was obtained, meeting the standard for hollow concrete blocks for masonry, which in turn brings an excellent advantage in terms of sustainability. |

Con el fin de conciliar estos problemas, este trabajo pretendía evaluar la sustitución del árido grueso (grava) del hormigón por residuos de PET para la fabricación de bloques de cobogós. Para ello, se utilizó una mezcla de hormigón modificada en la que se produjo una sustitución total del árido grueso (grava) por PET. Estos hormigones se evaluaron mediante un ensayo de compresión axial a los 7, 14 y 21 días. Como resultado se obtuvo una resistencia de 4,07 MPa, que satisface la norma para bloques huecos de hormigón liso para mampostería, lo que a su vez supone una excelente ventaja en cuanto a sostenibilidad.O grande desafio atual na construção civil é conseguir diminuir os impactos causados pelos processos, tais como a geração de resíduos; consumo de matérias primas; e o consumo exagerado de polímeros (plásticos) pela sociedade. Visando conciliar essas problemáticas, o presente artigo buscou avaliar a substituição do agregado graúdo (brita) do concreto por resíduo de PET para a fabricação de blocos cobogós. Para tal objetivo utilizou-se como método um traço modificado de concreto onde houve a substituição total do agregado graúdo (brita) por PET, estes concretos foram avaliados por meio do ensaio de compressão axial aos 7, 14 e 21 dias.
