The use of the “kahoot!” Software as an instrument of formative assessment in integrated high school

Resumo: Discussions about the use of games in the teaching-learning process are a current topic, especially with the growth of computerization in schools and the increasing presence of mobile devices in the possession of students. How to transform new technologies into teachers' allies instead of sources of distraction? How to enter the world of students of this digital generation, social networks and various applications? These questions are in school corridors and in current scientific articles. In this work, we use the Kahoot! with the objective of verifying the extent to which the tool assists in the process of formative evaluation of integrated high school students from a federal educational institution. Methodologically, we adopt a qualitative perspective for data analysis. The results show good acceptance by the students, increased attention and motivation in the classes, and the methodology was able to create a gamified and fun environment for the students, in addition to bringing a compilation of information to the student about the individual and collective performance of the class. We perceive limitations in terms of its applicability in the case of punctuated evaluations, greater difficulty in responding with the involvement of the mathematical operations competence, which may be more specific work in future works and adaptations of the method.

Esas preguntas están en los pasillos de las escuelas y en los artículos científicos actuales. En este trabajo, usamos el Kahoot! con el objetivo de verificar en qué medida la herramienta asiste en el proceso de evaluación formativa de los estudiantes de secundaria integrados de una institución educativa federal. Metodológicamente, adoptamos una perspectiva cualitativa para el análisis de datos. Los resultados muestran buena aceptación por parte de los estudiantes, mayor atención y motivación en las clases, y la metodología logró crear un ambiente lúdico para los estudiantes, además de traer una recopilación de información al estudiante sobre el desempeño individual y colectivo de la clase. Percibimos limitaciones en cuanto a su aplicabilidad en el caso de evaluaciones puntuadas, mayor dificultad en las respuestas con la implicación de la competencia en operaciones matemáticas, que pueden ser trabajos más específicos en trabajos futuros y adaptaciones del método.As discussões sobre o uso de jogos no processo de ensino-aprendizagem são um tema atual, principalmente, com o crescimento da informatização das escolas e a presença cada vez maior de dispositivos móveis na posse dos estudantes. Como transformar as novas tecnologias em aliadas dos docentes ao invés de fontes de distração? Como entrar no mundo dos alunos desta geração digital, de redes sociais e aplicativos variados? Essas perguntas estão nos corredores das escolas e nos artigos científicos atuais. Neste trabalho, utilizamos a ferramenta Kahoot!  com o objetivo verificar em que medida a ferramenta auxilia no processo de avaliação formativa de alunos do ensino médio integrado de uma instituição federal de ensino.  Metodologicamente, adotamos uma perspectiva qualitativa para análise dos dados. Os resultados mostram boa aceitação por parte dos alunos, aumento da atenção e motivação nas aulas.
