Field class for learning botany in the undergraduate education

Resumo: To enable meaningful learning, it is necessary to use varied methodologies where the student can be active in their own learning. The field class is one of these teaching methodologies that allow greater autonomy for students. Thus, the objective of this research was to evaluate the learning situations of the Morphology and Anatomy of Spermatophytes course of the Biological Sciences undergraduate program (CCB), inserted in the Health Sciences Center (CCS) of the State University of Ceará (UECE). To this end, three questionnaires were prepared, with objective and discursive questions, which were applied to students during the year 2018. From the analysis of the three questionnaires applied, it was possible to conclude that the field class enriched and facilitated the learning of the students. This is because higher grades were achieved, and consequently a higher average grade, during the reapplication of the multiple-choice questionnaire, which took place after each field class. This improvement is probably related to the student’s well-being. During field classes, it was observed that students were more curious and excited than during theoretical classes.

La clase de campo es una de estas metodologías de enseñanza que permiten una mayor autonomía de los alumnos. Así, el objetivo de esta investigación fue evaluar las situaciones de aprendizaje de la disciplina de Morfología y Anatomía de los Espermatofitos del Curso de Ciencias Biológicas (CCB), inserto en el Centro de Ciencias de la Salud (CCS) de la Universidad Estatal de Ceará (UECE). Para ello se elaboraron tres cuestionarios, con preguntas objetivas y discursivas, los cuales fueron aplicados a los estudiantes durante el año 2018. Del análisis de los tres cuestionarios aplicados se pudo concluir que la clase de campo enriqueció y facilitó el aprendizaje de las estudiantes Esto se debe a que se lograron calificaciones más altas y, en consecuencia, un promedio más alto durante la replicación del cuestionario de opción múltiple, que se llevó a cabo después de cada clase de campo. Esta mejora probablemente esté relacionada con el bienestar de los estudiantes. Durante las clases de campo se observó que los estudiantes estaban más curiosos y emocionados que durante las clases teóricas.No ensino, para possibilitar um aprendizado significativo, é necessário utilizar metodologias variadas onde o aluno consiga ser atuante em seu próprio aprendizado. A aula de campo é uma destas metodologias de ensino que permitem uma maior autonomia dos estudantes. Assim, o objetivo dessa pesquisa foi avaliar as situações de aprendizagem da disciplina de Morfologia e Anatomia de Espermatófitas do Curso de Ciências Biológicas (CCB), inserido no Centro de Ciências da Saúde (CCS) da Universidade Estadual do Ceará (UECE). Para tal, foram elaborados três questionários, com questões objetivas e discursivas, que foram aplicados com os alunos durante o ano de 2018. A partir da análise dos três questionários aplicados, foi possível concluir que a aula de campo enriqueceu e facilitou a aprendizagem dos alunos. Isto porque foram alcançadas notas maiores, em consequência uma média também maior, durante reaplicação do questionário de múltipla escolha, que ocorreu após cada aula de campo. Esta melhora, provavelmente, está relacionada com o bem-estar dos alunos.
