Experiences of young LGBTQIA+ activists in the face of homophobic manifestations present in school life in Igarapé-Miri, Pará

Resumo: This research aimed to analyze the experiences of young LGBTQIA+ activists in the schooling process in view of the various homophobic manifestations present in social and school life in the municipality of Igarapé-Miri, Pará, Brazil. The methodological approach adopted is qualitative, with semi-structured interviews with 04 (four) LGBTQIA+ activists who have already completed basic education and participated in the first movements to achieve militancy in that municipality.The data were analyzed based on the content analysis technique. The results point to prejudice and homophobia, as problems that exclude young people from the perspective of society, since many aggressive practices occurred inside and outside schools are derived from the lack of respect for differences, and this involves different cultures, learning and values. In this sense, it is relevant for the school to have a broad curriculum, focused on the various social dimensions to which it is inserted, enabling the formation of critical and reflective citizens, since the school is often the only hope of reversal of the expectations of each student, that is, within the institution with its school walls believe that they will be protected and equipped with the right to be treated with justice and equity, regardless of their ability to concentrate, sexual orientation, race and economic condition.

El enfoque metodológico adoptado es cualitativo, con entrevistas semiestructuradas con 04 (cuatro) activistas LGBTQIA+ que ya completaron la educación básica y participaron en los primeros movimientos para lograr la militancia en ese municipio. Los datos fueron analizados con base en la técnica de análisis de contenido. Los resultados apuntan al prejuicio y la homofobia, al prejuicio y la homofobia, como problemas que excluyen a los jóvenes de la perspectiva de la sociedad, ya que muchas prácticas agresivas ocurridas dentro y fuera de las escuelas se derivan de la falta de respeto por las diferencias, y esto involucra diferentes culturas, aprendizajes y valores. En este sentido, es relevante que la escuela tenga un currículo amplio, centrado en las diversas dimensiones sociales a las que se inserta, que permita la formación de ciudadanos críticos y reflexivos, ya que la escuela es a menudo la única esperanza de revertir las expectativas de cada estudiante, es decir, dentro de la institución con sus paredes escolares creen que estarán protegidos y equipados con el derecho a ser tratados con justicia y equidad, independientemente de su capacidad de concentración, orientación sexual, raza y condición económica.Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar as vivências de jovens militantes LGBTQIA+ no processo de escolarização em face às diversas manifestações homofóbicas presentes no convívio social e escolar no município de Igarapé-Miri, Pará, Brasil. A abordagem metodológica adotada é qualitativa, com entrevistas semiestruturadas a 04 (quatro) militantes LGBTQIA+ que já concluíram a educação básica e participaram dos primeiros movimentos para concretizar a militância no referido município. Os dados foram analisados com base na técnica de análise de conteúdo. Os resultados apontam o preconceito e a homofobia, como problemas que excluem os jovens da perspectiva da sociedade, já que muitas práticas agressivas ocorridas dentro e fora das escolas são oriundas da falta de respeito às diferenças, e isso envolve as diferentes culturais, aprendizados e valores.
