Analisis of an investigative teaching sequence proposal for the UV radiation

Resumo: In this work we aim to analyze the potential of a proposal for an Investigative Teaching Sequence (ITS) on Radiation and Radioactivity theme. In this purpose, the investigation involved carrying out an experiment using black light and sunscreen with different Sun Protection Factors (SPF). This activity was developed with 36 students from two class groups of the 2nd year of High School (EM) from a public school in Campo Mourão city/PR - Brazil. As a data record instrument, we used the justifications given by the participants to the question which finalizes the ITS. To analyze of these responses we use the framework of Textual Discursive Analysis (TDA). The activity made the scientific argumentation and the interaction possible between the students and the graduates, arousing the taste for Science. The results presented suitable justifications regarding the use of sunscreen, highlighting the importance of its use to prevent skin diseases and the learning of physics concepts related to radiation.

El objeto de análisis de la investigación consiste principalmente en um experimento utilizando luz negra y filtros solares con diferentes Factores de Protección Solar (FPS). Esta actividad fue desarrollada con 36 alumnos de dos clases del 2º año de la escuela secundaria de una escuela pública del municipio de Campo Mourão/PR. La recolección de datos se realizó a partir de las producciones de los estudiantes participantes de la actividad, compuesta por preguntas formuladas al final de la SEI. Para analizar estas respuestas, utilizamos los supuestos teóricos y metodologicos del Análisis Textual Discursivo (ATD). La actividad realizada posibilitó la argumentación científica y la interacción entre los estudiantes y el licenciado, despertando el interés por la Ciencia y la construcción de conceptos sobre la Radiación UV. Los resultados presentaron justificaciones adecuadas sobre el uso de protector solar, destacando la importancia de su uso para evitar enfermedades de la piel y el aprendizaje de conceptos físicos relacionados con la radiación.Neste trabalho objetivamos analisar os potenciais de uma proposta de Sequência de Ensino Investigativa (SEI) sobre a temática Radiação Ultravioleta desenvolvida com estudantes do Ensino Médio. O objeto de análise da pesquisa é composto da realização de um experimento utilizando luz negra e protetores solares com diferentes Fatores de Proteção Solar (FPS). Esta atividade foi desenvolvida com 36 alunos de duas turmas de 2º ano do Ensino Médio (EM) de uma escola pública no município de Campo Mourão/PR. A coleta de dados foi realizada a partir das produções dos alunos participantes da atividade, compostas por questões realizadas ao final da SEI. Para analisar essas respostas utilizamos os pressupostos da Análise Textual Discursiva (ATD). A atividade realizada possibilitou a argumentação científica e a interação entre os alunos e o licenciando, despertando o interesse pela Ciência e construção de conceitos acerca da Radiação UV.
