Resumo: | Surgical positioning promotes access to the surgical site; it must be carried out correctly, guaranteeing stability and safety for the patient, preventing complications. Objectives: analyze scientific productions on injury prevention through surgical positioning of adult patients intraoperatively; identify injuries resulting from failures and procedures used to prevent injuries resulting from surgical positioning. Methodology: integrative literature review study, prepared according to recommendations from the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) guiding question: “what are the approaches to preventing injuries resulting from surgical positioning?” The inclusion criteria for the studies were: portraying the chosen theme; in portuguese, english and spanish; available for free and found with full text. The publication period covered january 2017 to july 2022. The expected exclusion criteria: incomplete text; articles not available for free; articles out of scope and not available for free. To select the articles, the BDENF, LILACS, MEDLINE and Scopus databases were used. Results: 13 studies selected, predominantly brazilian. Discussion: analysis categories: predictive scales, support surfaces, surgical position and affected regions; continuing education. Conclusion: predictive scales constitute a safe assessment practice, directing actions, scoring higher risk conditions. All surgical positions may pose some risk. The dry viscoelastic polymer mattress and viscoelastic cushions contribute to a low risk score on the elpo scale. Continuing education will be essential to maintain good practices, including the use of predictive scales. |

Research, Society and Development2024-01-20info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/4483510.33448/rsd-v13i1.44835Research, Society and Development; Vol. 13 No. 1; e9413144835Research, Society and Development; Vol. 13 Núm. 1; e9413144835Research, Society and Development; v. 13 n. 1; e94131448352525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/44835/35805Copyright (c) 2024 Fernanda Ferreira e Souza; Monique Soares da Costa Barreto; Maria Virginia Godoy da Silva; Leandro Andrade da Silva; Carlos Eduardo Peres Sampaio ; Milton Domingues da Silva Junior ; Silvia Regina Martins dos Santoshttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSouza, Fernanda Ferreira eBarreto, Monique Soares da Costa Silva, Maria Virginia Godoy da Silva, Leandro Andrade da Sampaio , Carlos Eduardo Peres Silva Junior , Milton Domingues da Santos, Silvia Regina Martins dos 2024-02-01T09:48:39Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/44835Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-02-01T09:48:39Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false |
