Antibacterial activity of crude aqueous solution of Brugmansia suaveolens flowers

Resumo: The indiscriminate use of antibiotics results in the non-appearance of super-resistant bacteria that cause major problems for public health. Therefore, new composts with antibacterial properties are investigated for a possible way of treatment. Brugmansia suaveolens, a plant with psychoactive properties, is endowed with chemical compounds such as alkaloids, coumarins, flavonoids, steroids and hydrocarbons and that can present antimicrobial activity. Therefore, the objective of this study is to verify the antibacterial activity of the raw aqueous solution of plant flowers. An experimental study was carried out, where it was necessary to prepare the crude aqueous solution of the Brugmansia suaveolens flowers, followed by two procedures for the evaluation of the antibacterial activity and subsequent analysis of the two results obtained. Barceu-se to antibacterial action in the species Staphylococcus aureus, presenting inhibitory halo of 25 mm in 1000mg/ml solution and 23 mm in 500mg/ml. Finally, the antimicrobial activity of the plant in Staphylococcus aureus is noted, but further studies are not necessary for a full understanding of the antimicrobial potential of the plant.

Portanto, novos compostos com propriedades antibacterianas são pesquisados para uma possível via de tratamento. A Brugmansia suaveolens, planta con propiedades psicoactivas, é dotada de compostos químicos como os alcaloides, cumarinas, flavonoides, esteroides e hidrocarbonetos y que pueden presentar actividade antimicrobiana. Portanto, o presente estudo teve como objetivo verificar a atividade antibacteriana da solução aquosa bruta das flores desse vegetal. Para realizar un estudio experimental, una vez que se necesita una preparación de la solución de agua bruta de las flores de Brugmansia suaveolens, se siguen dos procedimientos para la evaluación de la actividad antibacteriana y el análisis posterior de los resultados obtenidos. Percebeu-se a ação antibacteriana na espécie Staphylococcus aureus, presentando halo inibitório de 25 mm en solución de 1000mg/ml y 23 mm en 500mg/ml. Por último, nota-se atividade antimicrobiana do vegetal em Staphylococcus aureus, no entanto são necessários mais estudos for total compreensão do potencial antimicrobiano da planta.O uso indiscriminado de antibióticos resulta no aparecimento de bactérias super resistentes e que acarretam grandes problemas para a saúde pública.
