Resumo: The epidermoid cyst is a relatively common non-odontogenic cyst that has its origin related to the implantation of epithelial remains during the fusion of embryonic processes. This article aims to report a case of epidermoid cyst in the mandibular region, with emphasis on its diagnosis and clinical conduct. The young adult patient presented an increase in volume in the region of the right mandibular body. The lesion was removed by means of simple surgical excision, under local anesthesia, and the piece sent for histopathological analysis, in order to confirm the clinical hypothesis of an epidermoid cyst. During follow-up, reinterventions were not necessary, demonstrating that it is an easily resolved lesion, through a simple surgical procedure.

Este artículo tiene como objetivo informar un caso de quiste epidermoide en la región mandibular, con énfasis en su diagnóstico y conducta clínica. El paciente adulto joven presentó un aumento de volumen en la región del cuerpo mandibular derecho. La lesión se extirpó mediante escisión quirúrgica simple, bajo anestesia local, y la pieza se envió para análisis histopatológico, a fin de confirmar la hipótesis clínica de un quiste epidermoide. Durante el seguimiento, las reintervenciones no fueron necesarias, lo que demuestra que es una lesión fácil de resolver, a través de un procedimiento quirúrgico simple.O cisto epidermoide é um cisto de desenvolvimento não odontogênico relativamente comum e que tem origem relacionada a implantação de restos epiteliais durante a fusão dos processos embrionários. O presente artigo tem como objetivo relatar um caso de cisto epidermoide em região mandibular, com ênfase no seu diagnóstico e conduta clínica. O paciente adulto jovem, apresentou aumento de volume em região de corpo mandibular direito. A lesão foi removida por meio de excisão cirúrgica simples, sob anestesia local, e a peça encaminhada para análise histopatológica, afim de confirmar a hipótese clínica de cisto epidermoide.
