Experience of nursing academic in the realistic simulation scenario about the evolution of diabetic neuropathy in old people

Resumo: Objective: To describe the experience of nursing students in addressing the theme of Peripheral Diabetic Neuropathy in the elderly.Methodology: The study is an experience report carried out through a teaching methodology known as realistic simulation, with a class from the first semester of the Nursing course at the Federal University of Pará, which presented the role of the nurse in the evaluation of diabetic foot due to peripheral diabetic neuropathy.Results: Through simulation, it is possible to identify the relevance of this methodology, being a way to expose academics in a close reality which they will experience; Besides that, it was possible to obtain a positive opinion on the part of the students, who answered satisfactorily the questions exposed during the interactive action with the class. Conclusion: The experience allowed us to observe the applicability of this methodology for nursing teaching in the context of learning, nursing consultation as a tool for reflecting on clinical cases in the classroom.

Metodología: El estudio trata sobre el relato de la experiencia realizada a través de una metodología de enseñanza conocida como simulación realista, con una clase del primer semestre del curso de Enfermería en la Universidad Federal de Pará, que presentó el papel de la enfermera en la evaluación del pie diabético por neuropatía diabética periférica. Resultados: A través de la simulación es posible identificar la relevancia de esta metodología, siendo una forma de exponer académicos en una realidad cercana que uno experimentará; Además, se logró obtener una opinión positiva de los estudiantes, quienes respondieron satisfactoriamente a las preguntas expuestas durante la acción interactiva con la clase. Conclusión: La experiencia nos permitió observar la aplicabilidad de esta metodología para la enseñanza de la enfermería en el contexto del aprendizaje, utilizando la consulta de enfermería como herramienta en la reflexión de casos clínicos en el aula.Objetivo: Descrever a experiência de acadêmicos de enfermagem na abordagem da temática da Neuropatia Diabética Periférica em idosos. Metodologia: O estudo trata-se do relato de experiência realizada por meio de uma metodologia de ensino conhecida como simulação realística, com uma turma do primeiro semestre do curso de Enfermagem da Universidade Federal do Pará, o qual apresentou o papel do enfermeiro na avaliação do pé diabético decorrente da neuropatia diabética periférica. Resultados: Por meio da simulação é possível identificar a relevância desta metodologia, sendo uma forma de expor os acadêmicos em uma realidade próxima qual terá vivência; além disso, foi possível obter uma opinião positivo por parte dos alunos, que responderam de forma satisfatória às perguntas expostas durante a ação interativa com a turma.
