Reuse of fish farming water in irrigation of watermelon (Citrullus lanatus (Thunb.)) grown in an eco-based production system

Resumo: | The research evaluated the growth, development and productivity of watermelon (Citrullus lanatus), variety Crimson Sweet and the contribution of nutrients to the soil from the use of irrigation with fish farming wastewater (AR) and supply water (AA) with and without organic fertilization. The experiment was conducted in the community of Vila Jessé at Km 35, Bragança/Pará. A completely randomized design was adopted with treatments arranged in a 2 x 2 factorial scheme, with 2 types of irrigation water (AR) and (AA) and 2 fertilization levels (with and without organic fertilization) and 10 replications, totaling 40 plots. Each plot consisted of an average of 4 plants. At 35 days after transplanting (DAT), the average number and length of branches were evaluated; and, at 64 DAT, the average fruit volume, productivity and, at the end of production, the average fruit weight and the contribution of nutrients in the soil. Regardless of the type of water used (A.R. or A.A.) treatments with organic fertilization showed the best averages. Just as with the use of A.R, better productivity was achieved, for the average number of branches, the A.A. presented the highest average. The use of A.R. promoted significant improvements in soil nutrition. The use of A.R. through drip irrigation proved to be a viable alternative for watermelon production in dry periods, improving soil nutrition and enabling the commercialization of this fruit in off-season periods. |

El experimento fue realizado en la comunidad de Vila Jessé en el Km 35, municipio de Bragança/Pará. Se adoptó un diseño completamente al azar con tratamientos dispuestos en esquema factorial 2 x 2, con 2 tipos de agua de riego (A.R) y (A.A) y 2 niveles de fertilización (con y sin fertilización orgánica) y 10 repeticiones, totalizando 40 parcelas. Cada parcela consistió de un promedio de 4 plantas. A los 35 días después del trasplante (DDT) se evaluó el promedio de número y longitud de ramas; y, a los 64 DDT, el volumen medio de frutos, la productividad y, al final de la producción, el peso medio de frutos y el aporte de nutrientes en el suelo. Independientemente del tipo de agua utilizada (A.R. o A.A.) los tratamientos con fertilización orgánica presentaron los mejores promedios. Ya que, con el uso de A.R. se obtuvo mejor productividad, en cuanto al número promedio de sucursales, la A.A. presentó el promedio más alto. El uso de A.R. promovió mejoras significativas en la nutrición del suelo. El uso de A.R. mediante riego por goteo demostró ser una alternativa viable para la producción de sandía en periodos secos, mejorando la nutrición del suelo y posibilitando la comercialización de esta hortaliza en periodos fuera de temporada.O trabalho avaliou o crescimento, desenvolvimento e produtividade da melancia (Citrullus lanatus), variedade Crimson Sweet e o aporte de nutrientes no solo a partir do uso de irrigação com água residuária de piscicultura (A.R) e água de abastecimento (A.A) com e sem adubação orgânica. Foi adotado o delineamento inteiramente casualizado com os tratamentos arranjados em esquema fatorial 2 x 2, sendo 2 tipos de água de irrigação (A.R.) e (A.A.) e 2 níveis de adubação (com e sem adubação orgânica) e 10 repetições, totalizando 40 parcelas. Cada parcela foi constituída pela média de 4 plantas. Avaliaram-se aos 35 dias após o transplantio (DAT) o número médio e o comprimento dos ramos; e, aos 64 DAT o volume médio do fruto, produtividade e, ao final da produção, o peso médio dos frutos e o aporte de nutrientes no solo. Independente do tipo de água utilizada (A.R. ou A.A.) os tratamentos com adubação orgânica apresentaram as melhores médias. Sendo que, com o uso da A.R, se obteve melhor produtividade, já para o número médio de ramos, a A.A. apresentou a maior média. A utilização de A.R. promoveu melhoras significativas na nutrição do solo.
