Resumo: The aim of the study was to investigate an association between exposure to sedentary behavior (ECS) with bullying, low consumption of fruits and vegetables and consumption of soda in adolescent schoolchildren from public schools in the State of Sergipe. The study stands out for being cross-sectional based, with a representative sample of 4139 adolescents between 14 and 19 years old. Data were obtained using the Global Student Health Survey questionnaire (GSHS, WHO). The dependent variable was presented to sedentary behavior (ECS), so adolescents who spent more than 4 hours a day in sedentary activities were considered sedentary. The independent variables were: negative perception of stress, bullying, feeling of loneliness and difficulty sleeping due to worry, low consumption of fruits plus vegetables and soft drinks. Binary logistic regression analysis was used to associate the variables. In adolescents, the variables feeling of loneliness, stress and soft drink consumption were associated with ECS. In boys, only as psychosocial variables, feeling of loneliness and stress associated with the outcome. The known that adolescents' ECS is associated with the feeling of loneliness and stress and consumption of soda, and with these results it is evident that there is a need to reduce physical inactivity and the consumption of unhealthy foods.

Research, Society and Development2021-04-04info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/1393810.33448/rsd-v10i4.13938Research, Society and Development; Vol. 10 No. 4; e16110413938Research, Society and Development; Vol. 10 Núm. 4; e16110413938Research, Society and Development; v. 10 n. 4; e161104139382525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/13938/12530Copyright (c) 2021 Cristiani Alves Brandão; Lucas Souza Santos; Davi Soares Santos Ribeiro; Maria Jaqueline Reis Almeida Rodrigues; Samara Celestino dos Santos; Edivaneide Oliveira Lima; Ana Claudia Santos Silva Guimarães ; Jamile Bedoia do Nascimento Santos ; Aldemir Smith Menezeshttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessBrandão, Cristiani Alves Santos, Lucas Souza Ribeiro, Davi Soares Santos Rodrigues, Maria Jaqueline Reis Almeida Santos, Samara Celestino dos Lima, Edivaneide Oliveira Guimarães , Ana Claudia Santos Silva Santos , Jamile Bedoia do Nascimento Menezes, Aldemir Smith 2021-04-25T11:21:26Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/13938Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:35:10.724107Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false
