Resumo: | This work aimed to analyze the economic viability of wind energy generation in the urban area of Cascavel - PR, with the purpose of meeting the demand of a single-family residence. The experiment was conducted through the collection and analysis of performance data of a small Greatwatt wind turbine, model S-600, installed in the Alternative Systems Analysis Center (CASA), of the Cascavel campus of the Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná (Unioeste). For this purpose, the information on the production of electricity from the turbine and the available wind energy was obtained in a field test by measuring wind speed values, voltage and current supplied by the wind turbine to a set of electrical resistors that simulate the household load and were collected by a data acquisition system consisting of a Campbell CR1000 Datalogger. The data collected at the end of the experiment showed a production of 1.23 kWh in the 25 days of collection with a total availability of 6.6 kWh, resulting in a yield of 18.7%. With these data, an analysis of the economic viability of the implementation of the system in a residence in the region was carried out, concluding that the system is still economically unviable, as it does not cover its implementation costs at the end of its useful life. |

El experimento fue realizado por medio de la recolección y análisis de datos de desempeño de una turbina eólica de pequeño porte de la marca Greatwatt, modelo S-600, instalada en el Centro de Análisis de Sistemas Alternativos (CASA), del campus de Cascavel de la Universidad Estadual do Oeste do Paraná (Unioeste). Para ello, la información de producción de energía eléctrica de la turbina y de la energía eólica disponible se obtuvo en ensayos de campo, midiendo los valores de velocidad de viento, tensión y corriente eléctrica proporcionada por la turbina eólica para un conjunto de resistencias eléctricas que simulan la carga de la residencia, y fueron recogidos por un sistema de adquisición de datos constituido por un Datalogger Campbell CR1000. Los datos recabados al final del experimento mostraron una producción de 1,23 kWh en los 25 días de recolección ante una disponibilidad total de 6,6 kWh, resultando en un rendimiento de 18,7%. Se realizó, con estos datos, un análisis de la viabilidad económica de la implantación del sistema en una residencia en la región, concluyendo que el sistema aún es económicamente inviable, pues no llega a cubrir sus costos de implantación al final de su vida útil.Este trabalho teve por objetivo analisar a viabilidade econômica de geração de energia eólica na área urbana de Cascavel – PR, com a finalidade de atender a demanda de uma residência unifamiliar. O experimento foi realizado por meio da coleta e análise de dados de desempenho de uma turbina eólica de pequeno porte da marca Greatwatt, modelo S-600, instalada no Centro de Análise de Sistemas Alternativos (CASA), do campus de Cascavel da Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná (Unioeste). Para isso, as informações de produção de energia elétrica da turbina e da energia eólica disponível foram obtidas em ensaio de campo, medindo os valores de velocidade de vento, tensão e corrente elétrica fornecida pela turbina eólica para um conjunto de resistências elétricas que simulam a carga da residência, e foram coletados por um sistema de aquisição de dados constituído por um datalogger Campbell CR1000. Os dados levantados ao final do experimento mostraram uma produção de 1,23 kWh nos 25 dias de coleta perante uma disponibilidade total de 6,6 kWh, resultando num rendimento de 18,7%.
