Evaluation of work overload in the nursing team and the impact on the quality of care

Resumo: | The work overload permeates as constant subjects of debates, causing damage to both professionals and assisted patients. In view of the relevance of the theme, the work aims to: reflect and discuss current perspectives in the context of the assessment of the burden on the nursing team and the impact on the quality of care provided to patients. Theoretical-reflective, descriptive study with a qualitative approach, which was built through the bibliographic exploration of the theme. After reading, two guiding axes were designated to reflect on the theme. It is observed that there is the implementation of health policies related to the theme, as well as instruments that can assist in the assessment of the burden, but it appears that there is a need for a look directed at the worker and his needs, because the burden is associated with losses in terms of patient safety and quality of care. Therefore, it is observed that for a good assistance, with the minimum acceptable errors, it is necessary to hospital institutions that promote working conditions, with efficiency in physical and human resources and cohesive institutional processes for a safe exercise. |

En vista de la relevancia del tema, el trabajo tiene como objetivo: reflexionar y discutir las perspectivas actuales en el contexto de evaluar la carga del equipo de enfermería y el impacto en la calidad de la atención brindada a los pacientes. Estudio descriptivo teórico-reflexivo con enfoque cualitativo, construido a través de la exploración bibliográfica del tema. Después de leer, se designaron dos ejes guía para reflexionar sobre el tema. Se observa que existe la implementación de políticas de salud relacionadas con el tema, así como instrumentos que pueden ayudar en la evaluación de la carga, pero parece que es necesario una mirada dirigida al trabajador y sus necesidades, porque la carga está asociada con pérdidas en términos de seguridad del paciente y calidad de la atención. Por lo tanto, se observa que para una buena asistencia, con los errores mínimos aceptables, es necesario que las instituciones hospitalarias promuevan las condiciones de trabajo, con eficiencia en los recursos físicos y humanos y procesos institucionales cohesivos para un ejercicio seguro.A sobrecarga de trabalho permeia como assunto constante de debates, por causar prejuízo tanto para os profissionais quanto para os pacientes por eles assistidos. Diante da relevância da temática, o trabalho tem por objetivo: refletir sobre as perspectivas atuais no contexto da avaliação da sobrecarga da equipe de enfermagem e o impacto na qualidade da assistência prestada aos pacientes. Estudo teórico- reflexivo, descritivo, de abordagem qualitativa, o qual foi construído através da exploração bibliográfica acerca da temática. Após leitura foram designados dois eixos norteadores para reflexão da temática. Observa-se que existe a implementação de políticas de saúde relacionados à temática, assim como instrumentos que podem auxiliar na avaliação da sobrecarga, porém verifica-se que existe uma necessidade de um olhar direcionado ao trabalhador e suas necessidades, porque a sobrecarga está associada à prejuízos no que se refere a segurança do paciente e a qualidade na assistência.
