Resumo: Objective: to analyze the epidemiological incidence of Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (Aids/AIDS) in the elderly, from 2010 to 2020, in the regions of Brazil. Methods: This is a descriptive and quantitative study developed by the Department of Informatics of the Unified Health System in Brazil (DATASUS). Elderly people aged 60 years or older with this pathology in this time interval were analyzed, verifying the following variables: year of diagnosis and notification, biological sex, ethnicity, age group, education and exposure category. Results: In the group in question, 14,405 new cases of this disease were observed in the country, being predominant in the Southeast with 5,565 cases. The main epidemiological profile was men, white, aged 60-69 years, with incomplete 1st to 4th grade education and with exposure to heterosexual relationships. It is worth mentioning, with regard to school level, that about 60% of the analyzed elderly fall into educational categories from illiteracy to incomplete elementary school, reinforcing the need for health education for the population that transcends formal education. Conclusion: There was a high number of elderly people with AIDS in the analyzed period, especially among heterosexuals and those with incomplete education. This points to the need for public health policies aimed at this group with approaches to sexual health by health professionals.
