This study aims to report the experience of students from a Higher Education Institution about the development of an activity aimed at raising awareness for blood donation and collection of blood bags in the community. This is a descriptive study, based on an experience report, lived by scholarship students from the Nursing Tutorial Education Program of a Higher Education Institution in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, in the Circulation Project. The experience in carrying out the activities linked to the project, which were intended to encourage the engagement of the regional population in the importance of blood donation, reflected in the capture of significant numbers of blood bag collection. Thus, Circulation, is a project that contributes to academic training, by enabling the exercise of organizing events, as well as to society, by providing knowledge about blood donation. It is noteworthy that the execution of the project is used as an accessory tool to attract a greater number of blood donors, so that people can continue to make further donations in hemotherapy services.
