Resumo: | The biodiversity of organisms is the result of biological evolution. Evolutionary processes are intertwined with the most varied areas of biology, which demonstrates the importance of this knowledge for the understanding of innumerable biological phenomena. Despite this, it is notorious in several situations, the difficulty of students in understanding the main aspects of the evolutionary process. This work had as objective to analyze the conceptions about the evolutionary process of the students of the integrated technical high school of a public school of the federal network. 137 students participated in this research, being interviewed through a questionnaire composed of seven items. The results demonstrate that the students incorrectly associate the evolutionary process with the terms: improvement, progress or complexity, in addition to having difficulties in associating evolution with other areas of biology. It is recommended that the contents to be taught during this stage of basic education occur in an articulated manner, in order to reduce the difficulties mentioned. |

Los procesos evolutivos se entrelazan con las más variadas áreas de la biología, lo que demuestra la importancia de este conocimiento para la comprensión de innumerables fenómenos biológicos. A pesar de esto, es notoria en varias situaciones, la dificultad de los estudiantes para comprender los principales aspectos del proceso evolutivo. Este trabajo tuvo como objetivo analizar las concepciones sobre el proceso evolutivo de los estudiantes del bachillerato técnico integrado de una escuela pública de la red federal. 137 estudiantes participaron de esta investigación, siendo entrevistados a través de un cuestionario compuesto por siete ítems. Los resultados demuestran que los estudiantes asocian incorrectamente el proceso evolutivo con los términos: mejora, progreso o complejidad, además de tener dificultades para asociar la evolución con otras áreas de la biología. Se recomienda que los contenidos a impartir durante esta etapa de la educación básica se den de manera articulada, con el fin de reducir las dificultades mencionadas.A biodiversidade dos organismos é resultante da evolução biológica. Os processos evolutivos estão imbricados com as mais variadas áreas da biologia o que demonstra a importância desse conhecimento para a compreensão de inúmeros fenômenos biológicos. Apesar disso, é notória em diversas situações, a dificuldade dos discentes em compreender os principais aspectos do processo evolutivo. Este trabalho teve como objetivo analisar as concepções sobre o processo evolutivo dos discentes do ensino médio técnico integrado de uma escola pública da rede federal. Participaram desta pesquisa 137 discentes, sendo entrevistados por meio de questionário composto de sete itens. Os resultados demonstram que os discentes associam de forma incorreta o processo evolutivo com os termos: melhoria, progresso ou complexidade, além de possuírem dificuldades em associar a evolução com as demais áreas da biologia. Recomenda-se que os conteúdos a serem ministradas durante esta etapa da educação básica ocorra de forma articulada, de modo a diminuir as dificuldades apontadas.
