PEDAGOGICAL PRACTICES, COMMUNICATION PROCESSES AND VIOLENCE IN SCHOOL: problems and contradictions

Resumo: This article aims to discuss aspects of communication and pedagogical practices that guide the dynamics of school culture. To this end, data constructed during the first author's master's research under the guidance of the second are used. The research is based on the perspective of Cultural Psychology and had as participants teachers and students of a sixth year class from a school located in a poor community in Brasília, which participated in a learning acceleration project. The methods adopted were participant observation in the classroom, focus groups with students and teachers, and some individual interviews with students. The results indicated aspects of school culture that reiterate practices of violence, distancing between teachers and students, individualism and authoritarianism. Based on this, the processes of construction and maintenance of school violence are discussed and the implementation of dialogical practices and relationships as mobilizers of change is suggested.

Para tal, são utilizados dados construídos durante a pesquisa de mestrado da primeira autora, sob orientação da segunda. O estudo está fundamentado na perspectiva da Psicologia Cultural e teve como participantes professores e estudantes de uma turma de sexto ano de uma escola situada em uma comunidade pobre de Brasília, a qual participava de um projeto de aceleração da aprendizagem. Os métodos adotados foram a observação participante em sala de aula, a realização de grupo focal com discentes e docentes e entrevistas individuais com alguns alunos. Os resultados indicaram aspectos da cultura escolar que reiteram práticas de violência, distanciamento entre professores e alunos, bem como o individualismo e o autoritarismo como valores que estabelecem e marcam as relações.
