DOES EMPIRICAL THINKING OBSTACULIZE THE DEVELOPMENT OF THEORETICAL THINKING? INTERPRETATIONS AND POSSIBILITIES

Resumo: | Is empirical thinking a starting point for the development of theoretical thinking or does empirical thinking hinder the development of theoretical thinking? To contribute to the reflections around this debate, the present work aims to investigate how Brazilian researchers interpret the relationship between empirical thinking and theoretical thinking in Davídov in the context of Mathematics Education. This article presents the results of an organized study based on an integrative literature review. In the Davidovian perspective, theoretical thinking is based on dialectical logic and empirical thinking on formal logic. In this sense, the study is guided through a systematic search carried out in Google Scholar, using the descriptors: “traditional formal logic”, “dialectical logic”, “empirical thinking”, “theoretical thinking”, “mathematics” and “Davidov”. In the works analyzed there was little discussion about the specificity of logic and how this influence in the formation process of different types of thought, however, all corroborate with Davídov in the sense that empirical thinking hinders the development of theoretical thinking. |

Para contribuir a las reflexiones en torno a este debate, el presente trabajo tiene como objetivo investigar cómo los investigadores brasileños interpretan la relación entre el pensamiento empírico y el pensamiento teórico en Davídov en el contexto de la Educación Matemática. Este artículo presenta los resultados de un estudio organizado basado en una revisión integrativa de la literatura. En la perspectiva davidoviana, el pensamiento teórico se basa en la lógica dialéctica y el pensamiento empírico en la lógica formal. En este sentido, el estudio se orienta a través de una búsqueda sistemática realizada en Google Scholar, utilizando los descriptores: “lógica formal tradicional”, “lógica dialéctica”, “pensamiento empírico”, “pensamiento teórico”, “matemáticas” y “Davidov”. En las obras analizadas hubo poca discusión sobre la especificidad de la lógica y cómo esta influye en el proceso de formación de diferentes tipos de pensamiento, sin embargo, todas corroboran con Davídov en el sentido de que el pensamiento empírico dificulta el desarrollo del pensamiento teórico.O pensamento empírico é ponto de partida para o desenvolvimento do pensamento teórico ou pensamento empírico obstaculiza o desenvolvimento do pensamento teórico? Para contribuir com as reflexões em torno deste debate, o presente trabalho tem o objetivo de investigar como pesquisadores brasileiros interpretam a relação entre pensamento empírico e pensamento teórico em Davídov no contexto da Educação Matemática. No presente artigo apresenta-se os resultados de um estudo organizado com base em uma revisão de literatura integrativa. Na perspectiva davidoviana o pensamento teórico sustenta-se na lógica dialética e o pensamento empírico na lógica formal. Nesse sentido, a realização do estudo se orienta por meio de uma busca sistemática realizada no Google Acadêmico, com o uso dos descritores: “lógica formal tradicional”, “lógica dialética”, “pensamento empírico”, “pensamento teórico”, “matemática” e “Davídov”.
