Home-office in the perception of workers in an automobilistic industry

Resumo: The contemporary world has been characterized by profound changes in work relations. A few decades ago, almost all workers were hired on a full-time basis, carrying out their activities on the company's buildings. Today, several of these conditions have been made more flexible, including the place where the work is done, with the increasing of the teleworking, also called home-office, when carried out at the worker's residence. The research whose results are here exposed had as aimto analyze the perceptions of workers in an automobile industry inserted in a pilot home-office experienceabout the advantages and disadvantages of this way of working. After a literature review on the advantages and disadvantages that are usually attributed to this system, these workers were consulted at two different moments: before the beginning of this system and eight months after it. The results indicate a prevalence of the positive aspects, revealing, however, the need of measures so it won't cause damage to workers or their productivity.

Hace algunas décadas, casi todos los trabajadores eran contratados a tiempo completo, desarrollando sus actividades en las instalaciones de la empresa. Hoy en día, varias de estas condiciones se han relajado, incluyendo el lugar de operación, con el uso cada vez mayordelteletrabajo, también llamado home-office, cuando se realiza en la residencia del trabajador. La investigación cuyos resultados se muestran aquí tenía como objetivo analizarlas percepciones de los trabajadores en una industria automotriz insertada en una experiencia piloto de oficina home-office sobre las ventajas e inconvenientes de esta forma de trabajo. Después de una revisión de la literatura sobre las ventajas y desventajas que se suelen atribuir a este sistema, estos trabajadores fueron consultados en dos momentos distintos: antes del inicio de este sistema y ocho meses después. Los resultados obtenidos señalan un predominio de aspectos positivos, revelando, sin embargo, la necesidad de adoptar algunas medidas, a fin de no causar daños a los trabajadores ni a la productividad que mantienen. O mundo contemporâneo tem se caracterizado por profundas mudanças nas relações de trabalho. Há algumas décadas, quase todos os trabalhadores eram contratados com carteira assinada, em horário integral e cumprindo suas atividades nas dependências da empresa. Hoje, várias dessas condições têm sido flexibilizadas, incluindo o local de atuação, com a crescente utilização do teletrabalho, chamado também de home-office, quando realizado na residência do trabalhador. A pesquisa cujos resultados estão aqui expostos procurou analisar as percepções dos trabalhadores de uma indústria automobilística inseridos em uma experiência piloto de home-office. Após uma revisão da literatura sobre as vantagens e desvantagens que costumam ser atribuídos a esse sistema, esses trabalhadores foram consultados os em dois momentos distintos: antes do início desse sistema e oito meses após.
