Aquisição da competência comunicativa da língua inglesa como fator de inserção no mercado de trabalho e no turismo: exame do problema em uma escola soteropolitana

Nowadays the communicative competence acquisition of English language has been a fundamental element in the globalized world. In such a context, the dominance of reading, writing, listening and speaking of that language has been a human right which must be directed to all the people, specially, the students from Public Schools as well as those who deal with tourism by the fact that the English language acquisition might be transformed in a element of inclusion social at work field and tourism. Such a research aims to give an answer about the meaning of that acquisition in order for the inclusion in the work field and tourism in the city of Salvador. Such a study tries to comprehend the importance of that acquisition nowadays and its diffusion in terms of social, economical, political, cultural and ideological aspects, that is, it tries to encircle the cultural, economical and social implications of such an acquisition through textbooks of communicative proposals, an appropriated curriculum, digital inclusion and public policies. It also analyses the consonance between the teaching of that language with the Curriculum Guidelines for Foreign Language (LDB-1996 and PCNS-1998) and the Tourism Department of the State of Bahia (SETUR). Such a study adopts a methodological strategy which has been divided into two steps: a theoretical approach and an empirical study. By the fact that it uses the case study technique, such a research has chosen an outline: students from Escola Estadual Professora Maria de Lurdes Parada Franch and SETUR/BA as the principal ones to be investigated. The questionnaires have verified that all the people who have been investigated consider that the communicative competence acquisition of the English language has been an element in order for inclusion in the work field and tourism, nevertheless, the students from that school have not had chances in order to acquire such a language , however, they believe that if they get it, their lives may change in order for a better financial and human condition.
